Me: "Where are we going Mina?"
Mina: "Shut up and come with me."
Me: "... Okay then?"
Mina: "You see that cherry blossom tree? Go there."
Me: "By myself?"
Mina: "Nah then with Mr Kim. Go!"
She pushed me as she waved and walked away casually leaving me confused. I paced myself towards the cherry blossom tree and stood under there.
Was something supposed to happen?
???: "Boo!"
I jumped as someone held my shoulders.
Who on Earth-
Him?
Me: "Why are you touching me exactly?"
Jeno: "I wanted to see your reaction and it is priceless- You look like you've just seen-"
Me: "Your face."
He stopped laughing immediately and glared at me.
Jeno: "Excuse me?"
Me: "You heard me."
Jeno: "Rude much. Anyway, you probably don't know why you're here."
Me: "No, no I do not Mr Obvious."
Jeno: "Well I'm here to tell you something. You have to promise me not to laugh or anything."
Me: "I won't."
Jeno: "Promise?"
Me: "Ehh, promise."
Jeno: "I like you."
I held my laughter in as I looked at the expression on his face when he said that.
Me: "You're not serious are you?"
Jeno: "No. No I am."
Me: "I'm sorry this is just funny to me. You? Liking me? The popular 'bad boy' of the school has a crush on a 'normal' girl?"
Jeno: "Why? Is that a problem? Can't I like who I want to now?"
Me: "I don't believe you."
Jeno: "I don't buy just any girl anything."
Me: "I know you don't because you like to flaunt that you're rich and then dump all these girls because they're worthless and-"
Jeno: "Shut up and hold still."
He firmly held my hand as I watched, shocked at what he was doing - he was putting a ring on me.
Me: "What are you doing?"
Jeno: "Trying to prove I like you? Duh idiot."
He let go of my hand and I peered down at the silver diamond ring shining on my finger.
Me: "You can take your ring back. I don't want to date you."
Jeno's jaw dropped slightly as he silently watched me give the ring back to him.
Jeno: "Why?"
Me: "I don't trust that this isn't going to end like every other relationship you've had. You're just going to end it like the other on-"
Jeno pulled me closer and stared down at me with an intense glare.
Jeno: "You're mighty feisty I must say."
Me: "You're mighty disappointing too."
Jeno: "I can prove I like you."
Me: "You tried to, and failed miserably I add."
Jeno: "You don't want rings, what do you want?"
Me: "Maybe genuine affection and sincere emotion?"
Jeno thought for a second before cupping my face in his hands.
Jeno: "I'll give you genuine emotion L/N."
He brought his face closer and planted a kiss onto my cheek.
I paused and froze dead on the spot.
Jeno smirked as I slowly lifted my hand upto my cheek.
Me: "Did you really just-"
Jeno: "There'll be more to come in the future so don't worry."
He winked as I stayed standing there, still holding my cheek perplexed.
Me: "I don't understand."
Jeno: "🎵I like you I like you I like you. Sorry I never meant to. But who're we kidding it wasn't like I had a say. One look at you and I won't have it any other way. I want you I want you I want you. I want you to want me too. 🎵"
He finished singing and looked up at me nervously.
My jaw dropped and I stopped.
Did he really like me? This much too?
Jeno: "Will you be my girlfriend L/N?"
Me: "Maybe."
Jeno: "What do you mean maybe?"
Me: "Will you sing for me more?"
Jeno: "Of course."
Me: "Okay. Yes I'll be your girlfriend."
Jeno: "Wait a second. Are you saying yes only because I can sing?"
Me: "Maybe."
Jeno: "Why you little-"
I laughed in his face as I ran down the hill. Jeno tried chasing after me as I kept laughing my head off now at his priceless reaction when I said that.
Me: "Come catch me bad boy!"
Jeno: "You wait right there-"
I continued to run and laugh as he struggled to keep up with me.
Me: "Come catch me then!"
Jeno: "When I catch you I will keep you and pick you up in my arms and show you off to everyone as we run away from the wedding aisle together!"
I stopped laughing and stopped in my tracks at what he just said. Turning around, I waited for him to catch up. As he panted, he glared at me.
Jeno: "You're mine now."
