Thought #96

December 2016

My mum's treatment is going well. The specialist tells me she's progressing at a faster rate than many other patients who suffer from alcoholism and added mental illnesses. I can't tell you how happy and relieved that information makes me feel. When my mum had alcohol poisoning and in hospital, I thought for sure that there was no turning back.

I thought I had lost her forever.

Another relief is that I still get to attend university. When I first brought up Mum going to rehab, we both thought it would be really expensive. However, we found out that is only if you go into a private live-in rehab centre. The one Mum is living at is residential and a free service.

Thank God for that.

Even though I was willing too give up my college fun in order to help my family, I am extremely grateful that I still have the opportunity to get a higher education.

I applied to Troywood as soon as applications for 2017 became available. Fortunately, I was accepted and only had a couple months left here until I move into the residence hall on campus an three hours away.

Two months of me and Hazel having alone time.

Okay, maybe not alone since Liam is basically my tail.

But nonetheless, I wouldn't have it any other way. I love my best friend and love my girlfriend. It's not like I'm gonna ditch Liam for Hazel.

Except for, you know, on dates and at night time.

Because when the sky is dark, we really need alone time.

Lol Hunterman, calm your hormones.

Ahhh it's almost over! 3 more chapters!

Also, I hope this chapter clears up any questions people had about how he was able to attend uni in the end! I didn't explain this in Dear Hazel epilogue since it wasn't Hunter's perspective or extremely important but this is why! And when I finish editing the manuscript for It Began With Ink (TDOH+DH combined) for self-publishing, I will make it clear.
