Dark clouds covered the sky. There was no trace of sunlight that could break through the mass. There were constant sounds of thunder rumbling within the skies. But in the distance, there were cries of horror and fear.

Victor found himself standing before the chaos that was now taking place. The location was his hometown. The young shifter was horrified by the devastation that was taking place. He shared all the emotions he could hear in the cries around him. The buildings around him looked destroyed. Some of these towers were crumbling to the ground as the earth shook. The debris fell to the ground, and Victor's heart dropped while he witnessed it crushing the people on the streets. Victor desperately wanted to help; however, his fear kept him frozen in place. Victor released heavy breaths as he glanced down at his legs to try to move again. He was unsuccessful once more.

All he was able to do was turn in place. There was destruction everywhere he looked. It made him sick to his stomach.

There was another rumble from the skies. Victor turned again. His eyes had gone wide when he saw an enormous being walking through the town. There was more devastation with each step this mighty beast took. Victor's blood ran cold; his body shook as he looked up at the beast. Its height was unimaginable, and its body was massive, with the lower body being more of a mist. Horns adorned its head, and its menacing red eyes sent a chill down the shifter's spine.

The beast brought a hand forward. It came down onto a building that blocked its path. Just a simple touch; the building became nothing but dust. The particles rained down on the city below while the civilians continued to cry in terror.

All Victor could do was watch as a cloud rampaged through the roads of the city below. The cloud engulfed the civilians as they ran for their lives.

Suddenly the shifter caught a glimpse of fiery hair. Victor turned his attention, and his heart dropped when he saw that it was his mother. Once again, he tried to break free from his invisible restraints as she tried to escape. Victor needed to help her. But he could not break free.

"Mom!" Victor cried out. The shifter still couldn't move an inch of his body, though he fought hard.

"Victor!" he heard a voice cry out. He could only hear his mother's voice as her image stared back at him in terror. "Victor!"

The images of the destroyed city vanished when Victor's eyes shot open. He could feel the sweat covering every last inch of his body, and his chest heaved up and down faster than ever. Victor's eyes flitted across the hospital room he returned to until they fell on Taryl. She had a worried stare while holding onto Victor's arms.

Victor lifted his body from the bed, and the young man tried to calm his breathing.

Taryl shuffled back from him, but she sat on the edge of his bed. "What were you dreaming about?" she asked him.

Victor looked up at her with panicky eyes. He glanced to the side a few times before attempting to swallow the lump in his throat. "Erm... nothing. Just-it was just a bad memory," he replied.

His twin looked at him skeptically. "That didn't seem like just some bad memory," she huffed. Taryl leaned closer to him, and her face invaded his space. He jumped back when he noticed how close she was. "Especially not with how you were talking."

The young man's face caught fire. He didn't realize he was speaking in his sleep. He thought he had gotten over that habit years ago. Victor could only turn his head away with a huff. "Seriously, it was nothing, Taryl," he told her.

Taryl drew her head back, and a faint scowl painted her face. "Look," she scoffed, "we may not have grown up together, but you can't just lie to me."

"Yeah?" he scoffed back. "Then why don't you tell me what was on your mind when you decided to go to bed?"
