"On a scale from one to ten, how awesome do you think I am?" Keefe asked, smirking.
"Hmm... would you hate me if I had to say one?" Sophie teased, and Keefe put a hand to his chest dramaticaly, looking mock-offended.
"Let me restate that: On a scale from one to ten, how awesome do you think my hair is?" Keefe struck a pose and gave her a ridiculous grin.
"Probably an eleven," Sophie promised, laughing.
"You flatter me," Keefe decided, leaning over to kiss her and sending the butterflies in her stomach scattering.
"Okay, my turn," Sophie told him evilly. "On a scale from one to ten... how much do you like Fitz Vacker?"
Keefe looked at her, horrified. "A two- no wait, a negative two -but don't tell him, I'd be dead."
"Really?" Sophie asked, stifling her giggles. "I thought he'd be at least a five."
"Your expectations are utterly unrealistic!" Keefe told her- dramatically, as always. "Has it never occurred to you that he smells like mastadon poop at it's worst and he looks like a gorgodon wearing a sun hat? And his hair- his hair! -it's a disgrace to the elvin world!"
"You sound like you've been thinking about him a lot," Sophie taunted.
Keefe scowled and leaned back against the panakes tree looking generally surly.

"Number one is definitely you Sophie Foster," Keefe decided with a smile that made her heart ooze into melty mush. "Although The Hair comes in a close second place."
Sophie laughed at him and threw a fistful of sweet-scented panakes petals at his face- which would've been awesome, if the wind hadn't swept them away before it could reach his legendary hair-do.
"What about third place?" Sophie asked, still smirking. "It doesn't have to be a girl."
"Hmm... probably the Dexinator," Keefe reasoned lightly. "Master Elixer Maker plus the Keefester is a recipe for disaster!"
Sophie snickered.
"Before your brilliant mind can think up something else, I have a question for you," Keefe emphasized, menacingly.
"Okaaay..."
"Bangs Boy or the Fitzer?"
Sophie raised an eyebrow. "The funny thing is, that question could very well be used against you to. If you're stuck sharing a room with one for the rest of your life, who would it be? Tam or Fitz?"
"You mean Fitzy or Tammy Boy, right?" Keefe clarified, dodging the question.
"Yup!" Sophie replied happily.
Keefe leaned over and whispered his answer into her ear.....
