Our story begins with a wonderful girl named Grace. At the time, she had a very adorable profile picture of a panda, more specifically a baby panda eating dumplings from Kung Fu Panda 3.

NOTE: This is not an accurate representation of Mochi le Panda (though, we would like to think it is pretty darn close).
Grace had a steady stream of followers and always assumed the more recent ones were because of her adorable profile picture, also known as "le panda".
Soon though, Grace wanted a change: A NEW profile picture. In an announcement, she expressed her sorrow to her followers, saying that she would miss her cute le panda, which was later named Mochi. All her followers were saddened by this news.
It is a little unclear how and when, but two people in this announcement's comments got an idea.
At first, it was merely a joke, or a playful, not-so-serious suggestion.
One suggested jokingly that they should make a petition to keep le panda. Along came another (who had never met this other person previously, EVER) and agreed.
From there blossomed an idea that changed the Wattpad World as we know it. What started out as a "petition" and a day to remember Mochi le Panda profile picture, turned into a day that brought people together.
A day everyone would remember.
Le Panda Day.
On April 27th, Zoey536 (along with the help of 107awesome) made a book called "Petition for Le Panda Day".

On that very same day, they both changed their profile pictures to one of pandas. They spread the news. Soon, a few people joined in with the fun.
