I stood in the room alone for a few more seconds, barely even breathing.
More guards had stormed in and taken me to a little round room with a winding red staircase that disapeared into the darkness above. It was pretty much the only thing I'd seen my whole visit in hell that wasnt white.
We walked for only a few minutes before the staircase ended and opened into a long hallway.
Beautifully made sandstones crusted the floor and walls, making intricate designs.
As the guards escorted me down the twisting hall, one of them nearest to me spoke up.
"You've spoken to the mirror. Would you like to stay in Hell, or pay the risk to go to Heaven Lanadel?"
It didn't sound like a question.
"Risk, how?" I questioned.
"Would you like to stay in Hell, or pay the risk to go to Heaven Lanadel?
What is wrong with him?
"Go to Heaven, isn't that what any sane person would say?"
He grunted at my answer.
"Sane."
I didn't know what to say.
We walked on through the hallway, and at some point we reached a small black door.
There was nothing very special about it, but I could see a faint glow coming off of the wood.
The guards vanished in the hall, and were replaced by the old man I had talked to before.
Right, he's my death coach or something.
He was wearing a new black suit and running quite quickly towards me.
"Lanadel, you chose to go to heaven. In the hell games I will only be contactable 7 times."
He handed me a small silver ring with a oval-shaped ruby in the center.
"When the time comes you'll know when to contact me. I came here to give you the ring, but also to ask you a question." He spoke quietly.
I nodded, awaiting him.
"Do you want to be like the girl in the mirror?"
His question caught me off guard.
"Of course not, why would I-"
"Good."
The old man smiled.
"Then don't lose."
And with that, he pushed me through the door.
