POV: Lanadel

----------------------------------------------

We talked for a while longer, but not about what he had said before. It was like he had skipped a few pages of a book, and left me confused. I couldn't remember what he had said that made my heart drop down into my stomach.
"Now, lets get you ready for your orientation." (Not sure if I spelled that right, my apologies)

He took me into a small empty room down the hallway from where we were seated before. There was yet another tight full-body suit waiting for me on a hanger.
This one was a pristine white like everything else, but there was also a pair of black combat boots sitting on the floor.
Thank god.
The man stepped out of the room and I changed into the new outfit. It was amazing. The soft velvety fabric hugged my body in all the perfect places and was insanely smooth, but the it still had a breathable latex feel to it.
I stepped out of the little room and back into the hallway, where more bright-skinned guards awaited me.

They escorted me to a pair of tall, grand gold doors. As soon as we arrived, they all disapeared. I reached out gingerly to the doors, and they came open easily at my touch.
I took a small step into the room, and my mouth fell open.
Mirrors.
From gigantesque to as small as my battered fingernails, mirrors covered every inch of every huge wall. I was in a grand ballroom, with a stunning golden floor.
Every step made a loud click that echoed out into empty room. The sound left me with goosebumps, but I'm not sure why.
An ornate chandelier hung from the ceiling and left small rainbows dancing across the floor, even though there were no windows.
I was too busy admiring the beautiful chandelier to notice the dark red that invaded my reflection.
I glanced up at a long, gorgeously framed mirror.
Blood pooled around my feet in my reflection.
What is it with this place and covering me in blood?
I looked down, but the golden floor remained clean. My reflection had gotten closer.
I took a step back from the mirror and lifted up my hand.
The mirror's hand stayed down.
The girl in my reflection looked like me. Alot like me actually, it was my own reflection.
But something was very wrong.
Those eyes weren't mine. They were cold and hard. Just looking at them, I saw all the pain and sadness they had seen before. It was the most heartwrenching sadness that exists. That kind when you realise you've lost someone and you'll never find them, or when your own guilt and emptyness gnaws away at you.
Wait, how do I know what that feels like?
I snapped my head away from the mirror and cried out as a sharp pain split across my head.
"The walls are bleeding, Lanadel." My twisted reflection said quietly.
Looking up, I furrowed my brow in confusion. "What?"
"Lanadel, the walls are bleeding. It's not safe." She repeated a little louder.
The blood around her (or my) ankles was gone, leaving no trace.
Her face soffened in concern. "You can't do this. You aren't a monster like them yet."
"I don't understand, of course I'm not a monst-" I stopped mid-sentence.
"Yet?"
She nodded. Her lips formed a straight line.
"I don't understand." I protested. I thought I had just imagined her mouth, identical to mine, twitching into a dazy smile. But I hadn't imagined it.
She giggled and put a ghost-white hand over her mouth. The childish giggling soon turned into howls of crazed laughter. It wasn't long after the guffawing started, that I saw tears spilling down her cheeks.
"You'll go, and you'll feel how I feel, and it'll just start again!" She yelled, cracking up again at her personal joke. "Wonderfully bleak! We're both so alike, I already know the ending!" She smiled and winked at me. "No spoilers."
My eyes were narrowed in confusion at her maniac-like outbreak.
"You know, I loved a girl. She was so beautiful. I need you to treat her right Lanadel." She was more crying than laughing now.
"I'm sorry, I don't understand, who are you?" I pleaded.
Her eyes glazed over and a distant look made its way onto her face, but only for a split second.
A smile broke across her face and she giggled as if she had just thought about something funny.
"The walls are bleeding! The walls are bleeding!" She chanted and dissolved into laughter once again. With one last deranged, miserably-happy look, she turned around and wandered away into the mirror, still chanting her unhinged mantra.

Author's note:
Hi loves! You're looking breathtaking today! :) I had WAY too much fun writing this, I love psychological stuff in books! (if you're not into that, or sensitive with topics similar to psychological illnesses I recommend to choose another book, as this is VERY focused on things like that! Just wanted to let you know!) I know I took longer to write this, but from now on I will be working on the chapters throughout my week, and on friday no matter how much I've written, I will publish it. I hope this makes a difference :) Have a lovely day/night!
