Chapter 8: Rose pollination

Previously: Link and Eve started to catch feelings for each other not knowing the other one felt the same way. Let's see how that works out, shall we?

"Where are you taking me?!" Eve exclaimed. it had been several days after the coronation now and Link and Eve hadn't spoken and that lead to Aria and Ella helping Link come up with an idea to help their other halves reconnect.

"You'll see soon!" said Link laughing at a pouting Eve

"A farm? Great one Link!" Said Eve sarcastically

"Hey, I put effort into this!" said Link laughing of her 'insult

A few hours in Link was mesmerised by Eve even more as they kept working and chatting. Her body convulsed as she felt shocks fly through her body. She was so exhausted but Link had no mercy on her. They hit harder and harder, and they finally finished chopping the weeds from the undergrowth.

Link tickled Eve's neck with his hot breath on the knife of it. "You look like you could practice handling a hoe, luckily I'm an expert," said Link staring into her eyes, "You just grip it tightly, forceful, and it suddenly is submissive."

Eve blushed and accepted Links help as he stared deeply into her eyes. Later the two of them became to tires to move.

"Let's take a break Eve, you look worn down. There's a nice bench here with your name on it! If I had a little woodcarver I could make that quite literal." said Link trying to hide the tiredness in his voice.

Of course, because of the farming, they had done all day and not of Eve. That would be something he never got tired of. Eve sat down beside him.

"Mmmm, you smell like hard work and exhaustion. It's pleasantly surprising, I guess that means you can wear any aesthetic well. If you're tired now, we can go wash up and whip up something to eat." Link continued with a small smirk yet he cared so much for the young lass. She agreed and then started their journey home.

Once they got there Eve sat on her bed as she waited for Link to finish in the shower. She was minding her own business until she realised the mirror that Link gave her was no longer in her purse and she started to panic. Suddenly, her worries disappeared once Link passed Eve as she walked to the bathroom. She caught a glance at his half-naked body, blood rushed to her face scalding her like her blood was boiling.

"Oh sorry, I'm so used to coming out of the shower to no company." Link nervously rubbed his neck.

"I-i-i should probably go" Eve stuttered. She couldn't have been embarrassed more in her life. It was even worse than when she got rejected by her childhood crush in front of her whole class and sisters.

Just as eve was about to leave link grabbed her by the wrist and she fell into his arms.

"Oh oops, I guess the strength of my convictions bled into the strength of my pull. I just...I don't want you to leave embarrassed. Is there anything I could do to make it better?" Link had a slight tremble in his voice. Yet it sounded so warm and calming to Eve.

He noticed Eve's furtive glances at his bare chest and realized why she was feeling a bit bothered. He clothed himself quickly and came back to eve, smiling coyly at her.

"Is this better?" He said making Eve quite flustered.

He came close to Eve and noticed she looked like she was having a bit of trouble standing, so he put his hand behind her back for support, feeling the gentle warmth of her body through his hand, and he used the other hand to gently tilt her chin up to examine her features.

"Is everything ok there on planet eve?" he questioned. He wanted to make sure she was ok and selfishly he liked seeing her a bit flustered around him.

There was no escape now, Eve was flustered beyond belief...even more so than when she was with Joseph. But Link wasn't ridiculing or poking fun, he was caring and there was something about that, that made her feel even more vulnerable. She wondered to herself, "Was Link's lips as sweet as his personality?", "Were link's eyes the lush green forest eve would get lost in?". She looked back and forth between his lips and both his eyes.

So hypnotic...

Getting closer...

Wait!...

But alas, their magnetic attraction made their bodies meet at last...

Connected by their lips.

For what felt like forever...

And in an instant, they pulled away looking at each other with an intense fire yearning in both their eyes.

Link was the first to speak, "oh eve, I'm so".

Eve paused him. "Don't be sorry for something I loved".

They came together into an affectionate hold. Just listening to the sounds of their heartbeats. Long into the night.

Now that was over, Eve had to figure out what happened to the mirror.
