Harper's POV

"Why you little bitch" Joseph seethed at me. He looked at me with such disgust in his eyes. Like I had killed his family and made him watch. I felt Naya growl at him.

Suddenly a loud growl cut through the room. I immediately flinched back into the corner of the room. All of the sudden my mate, ran over to Joseph. Quicker than anyone could say better, he snapped his neck.

I can't believe it. My mate. He just killed someone. He isn't safe.

My mate looked back at me. Ignoring the warmth I got from him looking me in the eye, I ran. I ran as fast as I could, out of the castle. I ran toward the woods. I haven't even seen  the outside of the castle in over 10 years. But I couldn't dwell on that. I knew he was on my toes. I ran. I could feel the rocks and dirt under my feet that I was tracking up.

All of the sudden, a big furry body knocked me over. It knocked the wind right out of my lungs. I knew straight away from the amber and brown sugar smell that it was my mate. I couldn't help it. I was overwhelmed with emotion and I could feel tears running down my face.

"Please don't do it. Don't kill me. Please. I'm sorry. I'll do anything. Please" I pleaded and pleaded to him without opening my eyes.

I finally opened them and found him shifted back. There was hurt in his eyes as he whimpered.

"I would never hurt you" He seemed so sincere. But so did Joseph when I first met him. My thoughts trailed back to Joseph and how his body went limp under my mates wrist. Before I could protest my mate picked me up and carried me out of the forest. I watched as the trees passed by and I was wondering if these would be my final moments. I looked at the sky. It was more beautiful then I remembered. It was so peaceful. Like a blanket of peace over a world full of chaos.

I was carried back towards the castle and then set in a car.

"No where are we going. This is my home! Stop!" I could feel the tears rolling down my face again. See, it's not as if I liked  where I lived but it was my home. All I've ever known. He's taking me to a faraway place that I have no clue of. Hell, I didn't even know who he is.

"please.." my voice broke. I could see him visibly pained at the sound of my voice.

Nice Going Harper. He already thinks your voice is annoying. Great strategy for surviving.

"Lets Go" he told the driver after he walked around to the other door and slid in his seat. I looked out of the mirror and I silently cried as my home, where my parents were buried, my whole life and all I ever knew whisked passed me.

I guess the emotions finally overwhelmed me as I fell into a deep, deep, sleep...

Rylers POV

She's afraid of me.

When I was carrying her I could see her scars. She looks like she'd been abused every day of her life. It angered me to see freshly cut scars that couldn't be more than a week old.

But as I saw her now, sleeping on the edge of the car she seemed, broken. She looked like she had a tuff past. But I wouldn't question it until she didn't think that I would kill her every chance that I get. I didn't even get her name. But she's perfect for me.
