where we left off....

I decided to let Ryler get back to work as I explored the castle and thought about how I would introduce myself. I also decided that besides the fact that my wolf wanted it known that Ryler was my mate, I didn't even want Parneet knowing until I was ready. Even if that meant me watching their close relationship first hand, I wasn't ready for the confrontation.

I know Ryler told me, and then told me again that I shouldn't be worried or feel jealous of Parneet but I already was even before meeting her. I tried not to be prejudice and not already hate her before she arrived back from her hunt but I was finding that realllly hard to do.

I already know, that before me Ryler lacked emotional connection. I know he didn't feel love so naturally, I understood without anyone having to tell me that she assumed that role. She probably loved him. I understood but that didn't mean that I had to like it.

I was getting ready when Ryler knocked on my door. After shouting a quick come in, her entered and his eyes immediately scanned the room until they locked with mine and his entire expression softened. I knew that was of natural instinct because of his wolf and the mate bind, but that doesn't mean that the little gesture didn't warm my heart.

"Hey baby. Parneet is almost here and I wanted to remind you that you don't have to feel jealous okay? You are my mate and although Parneet is a wonderful person and shes amazing, I want to let you know that you come before everyone. I love you." While he was walking over to me he had wrapped me in his arms and then I processed what he said.

He loves me?? What we just met I-

Before I could continue my rampage in my head, the doorbell rang and I was pulled into a hug once again by Ryler.

"I meant every word of it" he whispered into my ear as his breath on the side of my face made Naya go wild. And then he was quickly out of the hug and being pulled out of my room and downstairs.

He got to the door and opened it. Before he could I pulled my hand away and a tiny look of hurt flashed on his face. But as soon as it was there, he was masking it as it quickly disappeared. He pulled the door open and the most beautiful women I ever saw engulfed Ryler into a hug. I didn't want Naya to see as I quickly turned away, but she whimpered in my head as I know that she saw.

"Oh my goodness I've been so rude" her sweet voice accompanied her amazing look as she turned to me.

"My name is Parneet. I'm Rylers familiar. I didn't realize that me and the dork had company." she giggled as she said dork and held out her hand for me to shake. I took it swiftly as Ryler started talking.

"Parneet this is Harper. Shes my m-" I quickly cut him off.

"friend! we've been friends forever and when I needed a new pack to join and someone to take me in of course Ryler was happy to do it." I said as Parneet giggled and stated "you seem like a wonderful person to be around! I'm sure we will be best friends" she said as she subconsciously stepped closer to Ryler. This hurt deep inside me. It hurt like hell. But I learned to mask my emotions well as in my old castle whenever we had alphas visiting I had to act happy.

"I'm sorry for being rude," I paused, "but i'm going to lay down, i'm not feeling to well."

Parneet looked at me as if I told her my house burned down. "Oh no! Are you okay? How long has it been happening? Do you need me to make you some soup" she looked actually concerned and I was starting to feel worse. My mates familiar, the one wolf he has the second strongest bond to, someone who's been around him forever to take care of him, was actually on of the best people I have ever met.
