"Ugh..." I sighed aloud.
No matter what angle you looked at it, Elizabeth was villainess, and everyone favoured Charlotte.
Even I once believed that, as a reader. Now of course, I regret it. After all, how would I ever be happy in this body if my ending was exile?
As I continued to think of ways to get out of the situation, a knock came at the door.
"Milady, it's me, Anne."
"Come in." I responded.
Anne opened the door with her left hand, the other holding a tray with a letter on it. A maroon coloured crest was embedded in the seal. A letter from the Academy.
"Ah, I'm a 2nd Year student now."
In this world, magic users would study at the Academy for three years, the first year to get to understand basic knowledge, and the second and third with their elected subjects and preferred element.
Students would be allowed to choose three elected subjects, and take core subjects of English, and Mathematics, as well as general magic.
I recalled from Elizabeth's memory, a conversation that took place at the end of the school year.
"Elizabeth! What subject are you taking?" Queenie asked, with the twins trailing behind her.
"Well, uh... I actually haven't decided yet." Elizabeth replied, looking hesitant. "What about you guys?"
"The three of us are all taking Business!" Ophelia cheerfully answered her.
"Ah.. I see." She replied. She wasn't too interested in business, rather preferring Literature. "Maybe I'll take Literature?" She questioned out loud.
Queenie wrinkled her brows in disgust. "Literature? But that's so boring!" Samantha nodded in agreement.
'Not this again...' Frustrated at her friends, Elizabeth forced a smile and replied, "It's not too bad..."
"Oh, I know!" Ophelia clapped her hands in excitement. "Let's all choose business together! That way we can study together."
Ophelia was a sweet and innocent angel, really, but she was also good at pushing Elizabeth into situations because of her innocence.
"W-well if that's what you want." Elizabeth reluctantly said, sounding as if she was trying to convince herself.
Three subjects, huh?
Well then, if I were really Elizabeth, I would have probably chosen the same subjects as Queenie.
But I'm not Elizabeth. And who's to say I can't enjoy some literature? A smirk slowly formed on my face.
"Milady?" Anne asked, confusion evident on her face.
"Oh, it's the letter to choose electives." I responded with a gentle smile.
I ticked the boxes on English Literature, Chemistry, and just to keep myself on the storyline, Business.
Yes, business. So I can prove that I'm better than them.
This would be quite an interesting school year.
