I mean, and tell me if you agree with me or not, wouldn't you think that being an immortal goddess, you would have a pretty sweet life?

No. No, it wouldn't. At least, not in my case. In mine, my whole life is confusing and chaotic. But hey, keeps things interesting.

I sat in my living room, staring at the pages of a book while my mind wandered. My phone began to ring and I was shaken out of my daze. Tony Stark.

"Hey Tony, what's up," I walked to the window in my apartment, "Yes I see it. Yes. Oh, it'll run itself for a year? Yes, Tony, okay. Yes, it will run itself for a year. Okay, Tony. Okay, I'll talk to you tomorrow. Okay, goodnight," I sighed with a smile and hung up the phone. Tony Stark, Iron Man, one of my closest friends. I looked out the window of my apartment again, being able to see Stark tower in the distance. I set down my phone, going into the bathroom to get ready for bed. I heard my phone ring again. "Tony, what do you want now," I picked up my phone, but it read no caller ID.

"Hello?"

"Cora, I need you to come in." It was Nick Fury.

"I-"

"Yes, I know, you just retired. But this is important."

"Nice to talk to you too... Can I ask for what?"

"Avengers Initiative."

I paused for a moment, "I thought that was scrapped."

"Right now, we're desperate. Get here tomorrow morning."

"Alright, on my way," I hung up the phone and sighed, walking to my closet. I dug into the back and pulled out a box. My old SHIELD uniform was in it, navy blue pants and top with a SHIELD logo on the shoulders. I put it on and got into my car, my sleek black mustang that I honestly couldn't live without, I mean it looked so cool. Anyways, I drove to the airport where a jet was waiting to take me to the helicarrier.

On the jet, I wondered what could be so important to bring the Avengers Initiative back to light.

As soon as I landed onto the heilcarrier, I saw Natasha Romanoff waiting for me.

"So, screw retirement huh?" Natasha laughed.

"I guess so," I smiled and pulled her into a hug.

Natasha Romanoff, Black Widow. Another one of my close friends. She's a total bad ass who is very hard to figure out. Took me about five years.

"Come on, we have someone to meet," she said.

I followed her to a Quinjet that had recently landed, Agent Coulson and a familiar-looking man stepping off.

"Agent Romanoff, Agent Wilder, Captain Rogers," Coulson said, pointing to the man next to him.

"Ma'am," he turned to Natasha and shook her hand, then doing the same to me.

"They need us on the bridge; they're starting the face trace," Natasha said to Coulson, and began walking away with him.

"So, Captain Rogers, nice to finally meet you," I said, registering in my mind that it was Captain America.

"Nice to meet you as well Miss Wilder."

I gave a laugh, "Oh please, Cora is fine."

"Well then, nice to meet you, Cora." Steve smiled.

I looked around, and saw Bruce Banner looking around awkwardly by himself, "Oh, here, let me introduce you to someone."

"Dr. Banner," Steve said, shaking his hand.
