Special Chapter 2

Sasha POV

Wind attacked my face as I flew through the sky. I was free at last. I let out a happy roar that rippled through the air. 

My wings carried me towards my destination, my home town. It looked like how I remembered it. A town surrounded by forest on one side, a beach on the far side. 

I flew down into the forest, going for cover. I had spent time practicing on shifting back into my human form. At first, I had failed miserably. Nothing had happened. After a few months, I managed to get somewhere. I made my body smaller and human, leaving just a tail and wings. I eventually managed to be able to shift into a full human, no wings or tail. 

Unfortunately, when I shifted, I was butt naked. Luckily, I brought an outfit with me. 

I wanted to see my mum. It had been a long time since my father took me away. I shifted into my human form. My hair had grown long. I had gotten my highlights removed, leaving my hair black. I pulled on leggings and a loose hoodie. 

I was able to recognize my house. The once beige walls were painted a yellow mellow colour. The garden was full of plants, just like they used to be. 

I didn't step out of the forest. I just stared at the house. I wanted to see her, even if it meant watching from the distance. 

I heard a door open. Out ran two children. They were around 10 years old, a girl and a boy. I stared at them in fascination. Did my mother have kids again? 

I watched as a woman, around her forties, stepped out of the house, a tall man beside her. Their arms were linked and they were smiling.  

My heart panged. I didn't know what to feel. Jealous, that my mum had gotten on with her life and had other children to love? Happiness, that she found a family that would be there for her? Fear, that she had forgotten about me. 

I watched as she laughed with her husband, watched as the two children played together. 

My heart grew heavy, tears threatening to spill from my eyes. I was happy for her. She deserved a good life. 

I turned around and left. 

Now, time to find my father. He was a dead man.

I know this is short, sorry. These chapters will be short, just telling us about the lives of the book characters after the final chapter (38).
