It's was 6:23 am when Gabe rolled over to wake up Caroline for school, Gabe approaches the guest bed room, opened the door, then walked up to Caroline. But she was already dressed and ready... Gabe looked at Caroline with a confused face and said, " Wow look at you go."
Caroline looked back at him, chuckled and smiled. In her mind she said Don't get to excited, it's only because I want to get this day over with. But what she told him was, " Yeah I just felt like getting ready today." Gabe smiles at her as she walked over to her school bag to put all of her books in the front pocket.
Gabe looked down at his phone which the time on it now read 6:31 looked back up to Caroline and said, " We should probably get going." Caroline shook her head yes and as they walked downstairs and to the kitchen Caroline quickly grabbed an apple from the bowl of fruit and out the door they went.
( 15 minutes later arriving at school) Gabe could tell that Caroline was already feeling uneasy but instead of giving her sympathy because he knows she hates that he bumped Caroline's shoulder with his and said, " Look there's Mrs. Regan, maybe you should go talk to her." Mrs. Regan is the guidance counselor and has gotten both Caroline and Gabe through some hard times. Caroline's frown quickly turned into a small side smile as she said, " Yeah maybe I should... I will go after lunch."
About 5 seconds after Caroline saying that the bell rang and separate ways they went off to first period.
