Caroline saw the navy blue Jeep pull into her drive way and walked out the door. Right before she put her hand on the handle to open the door Gabe came around from the other side of the Jeep hugged her and Said in a calm voice, " It's gonna be okay, you will be okay."
Caroline didn't want to seem weak so as she felt her eyes watery she looked up and Gabe and said back to him, " Thank you, I know it will be." That was a lie though, all she could think was This is the day that everything is going to change. But she pushed all of that feeling deep down to be strong for Gabe. She got into the Jeep closed her door and they started driving to Gabe's house which was about 1.5 miles away from where Caroline lived, well where she used to live... She knew that when she went back to school on Monday things would be different for her, but she was as prepared as she could be. Caroline got so lost in her thoughts that she forgot they were even going to Gabe's place, so when Gabe turned to look in the passenger seat to face Caroline and said, " We're Here!" Caroline jolted a bit and Gabe laughed at her, so she looked back at him and gave him that Haha very funny smirk she does. Gabe and Caroline approached the Porch steps of the house as Gabe put his house key into the door knob and struggled to open it for a minute before Ella (one of his aunts) came to the door for him and said, " Need some assistance? Smiling at both him and Caroline. Gabe Chuckled and said, " Yes please." As they walked into the house. Caroline was greeted by Ella and Susan ( Gabe's married Aunts) with their friendly smiles as Susan turned to her and said, " I am sorry about your mom sweetie, I never thought anyone would kick their own child out just for being gay." Caroline adjusted her long curly dark hair and said, " Me either, but it is what it is I guess." Gabe took the suitcase from Caroline's hand and said, " Let me take this upstairs and get you settled in." Gabe walked upstairs as Caroline followed him. It's really happening Caroline thought to herself. This is starting fresh.
