If self harm was for attention
We would do it in front of you
We wouldn't barricade the bedroom door
Lock the bathroom door
Cover it up with long sleeves
Or tons of bracelets full of beads
Do it places no one will think of looking
Look so ashamed
When you ask to see it
Be so socially aware of ourselves
Be laughing one second
Then silent the next
Keep everything from you...
If self harm was for 'attention'
Why didn't you notice
How sad I became
How much I hated myself
How I only cut to ease the pain
If self harm was for 'attention'
You sure as hell didn't pay attention
When I disapeared
And the only thing left behind
Was my name carved into stone.
