Jungkook POV
"How can we fix this mistake? This is going to cost us a lot of money!" He said. I know my boss is furious and so am I. We both stared at each other, my boss with hands on his hips giving me a scowl, while I was pacing back and forth, not knowing how to fix a huge problem made because I trusted Katie with transporting our files and USB drive to our biggest client, GQ.
She has never made this big of a mistake before and since I was the one in charge of the photographs, I'm going to be blamed and possibly fired with a terrible recommendation from the people in charge.
The other day, I was running behind and getting very tired, I haven't been sleeping well since I have been missing Ashley like crazy and couldn't wait to get back to her next week. This project was to be the highlight of my career, it would have set me for life with a promise of getting bigger clients and making a name for myself. This would have taken care of Ash and I so that we could get married and start a family with no financial problems.
The reason this project was so big for me was that I was entirely in control of where we took the pictures, what celebrities and models looked like, both in clothing and make up, the poses, the editing, what types of pictures were chosen for the magazine and also choosing which celebrities and models for the shoot. It was to be a cover and spread for one of the top guy magazines and I didn't want anything to go wrong.
Well it did, somehow, my files and drive never made it on time for the final stages of adding it onto the magazine since we did the shoot at another building. I haven't been able to get ahold of Katie, nor has anyone else. Something very wrong may have happened to her and the company and myself are starting to get worried. It has now been 5 hours since she has been missing and I'm at the point of going to her house to check on her. We didn't make a police report because she has done things like this where she almost drops off the planet and no one can get in touch with her. But she's never done it with any business errand she has been given.
"Do you have her address? Since this is my project, I am responsible for it and will go myself to check on her."I yelled out to everyone in the studio.
I see a girl in the back writing down something on a piece of paper and she rushes over and reluctantly hands it over to me. Her green eyes look scared but right now I can't focus on that. Right now I have to find these important items for my project to be completed. I read Katie's address and I almost run out the door yelling a thank you to the unknown girl who gave it to me.
As I get in my rental car, I got a bad feeling but again, I don't have time for that right now, I just need to be done here in California so I can go back to the love of my life.
I put the address in my gps and start to drive over there, I'm really hoping she's there so I can get an explanation of why she didn't make it over to our companies building. As I'm driving, my phone starts to ring and my face lights up when I see your name there on the screen.
"Hello love! What are you doing up? It's what, 6am there?"
"Hi baby, I've just been missing you but I had a really bad dream last night but I don't recall a lot of the details but since it was about you, I was really worried that something bad did happen. I'm glad to hear your voice and know you are alive and well."
"Well I am alive and well but I'm not happy with my assistant who is missing with my completed project file and my usb drive."
"Don't you have a backup that you can take to them?"
"I do but she had a few last minute changes that are pretty big on the usb drive and somehow she didn't save those changes, since she was in charge of finishing it up and taking it to the magazine's main office."
"Ah I see, well I'll let you go so you can finish what you're doing. I can't wait to see you in a week."
"Me too, love you honey, bye!"
"Love you too. Bye!"
I finally reached Katie's house, which is fairly nice looking from the outside and not what an assistant could normally afford. I start pounding on her big brown door and finally the door opens revealing a sad looking Katie. She invites me in and motions me to sit at her large rectangular dining table.
"Katie, what is wrong? Why didn't you get those files and drive to the main office?!" I almost yell at her as she flinches at my tone.
"I'm sorry, Jungkook, my cat died and I became so upset that I totally forgot about it until you came to me."
"Okay well where is it? We missed the deadline but we can still get it there if we get it there before 5:00pm. Seeing as it's a little after 3, I think I could get it there without a problem. Otherwise they might use another person's pictures."
"That means you can stay for just one drink with me? It'd be nice to have a friend here with me even if it's just a few minutes. I'll go get us some drinks. Be right back."
Damn it! I need those files but I don't want to be rude to her so I'll have one drink and then go. She is taking a little more time than it would normally take to make up some drinks so I go into the kitchen to find out what's wrong.
As I'm headed towards the kitchen, I see her coming towards me with matching drinks, both clear and with a lime on the rim. "Sorry it took me so long, I couldn't find the vodka."
As I start drinking, I'm impressed with how good her mixed drink tastes. After finishing my drink, I am happy to get up and get the flash drive and files and go. But as she hands them to me, I start to become really tired to the point that I fall down right as she's handing me the things I need. The next thing I can remember is her deep maniacal laugh flooding my ears and the crazed look in her eyes.....
