EMAIL MESSAGE"I know you all will be ready to get settled and meet all the new people around campus but just remember tonight we still have practice. Only a few days until our first game and every practice gets us better prepared for the cheerleading competitions for this year. See you all at 8pm and remember DO NOT BE LATE!!!!

I read the message and closed my email app in my phone. Today was move in day for school and my mom and dad just had to come to campus to help me get settled in.
"This brings back so many memories. So much on this campus has changed since I walked these sidewalks", my father said as him, my mother and I walked towards my dorm.
"Well this campus is nice but I think that Duke would have been a better school for him", my mother said.
"Please do not start with this Monica. Olen is already here and has some scholarships to be able to afford his education", my father said.
"I just feel like if he focused a lot more on his academics he could have gotten a full scholarship to Duke based off his grades alone instead of having to take up cheerleading. Plus remember I told the both of you that........."
"Yeah, yeah.....your aunt has connections at Duke and probably could have pulled some strings to get him in there but he didn't choose to go there. He chose to go here. My stomping grounds", my father said as he discontinued my mothers rant.
"Can we like not do this today? This is my day and my decision", I said to them both. My mother slightly turned her head and folded her arms.
"So where is Niecy?", my father asked breaking the tension.
"She is all the way across campus at Hawthorn Hall. I will meet up with her later."
We finally reached my dorm at Scott Hall. My parents helped me unpack my clothes and other items. I noticed that the other side of the room was already occupied but the person must have left the room for the moment. I guess I don't have the room all to myself as I thought I would. My mother was just finishing folding some of my shirts when all of the sudden we heard the room door opening. I saw who was walking in and thought, no fucking way.
"What's up roomie?!!!!! Marco said as he pulled me in for a hug. I can't believe we are roommates here just as we were at cheer camp", he said. I was in complete shock.
"How the hell did this even happen?", I asked. "Watch your language Olen", my mother said sternly.
"Monica, hell is barely a curse word and our boy is everyday of 18. It's not that serious", my father said.
I looked at both of them with a straight face as to signal to them to cut the bickering out. I then began to introduce everyone. "Mom.....dad...., this is Marco one of the members of my cheer team and my friend and now my roommate.....I guess, but how?"
"Well I had another room when I first got here about an hour ago but they found out that the power did not work in there because of some electrical issues and there was some kind of leak so here I am!!! Don't act like you not happy to see me. We are going to have so much fun."
"Hopefully not too much you both have to make sure that you focus on your studies. Especially you Olen since some of your scholarships depend on your good academic performance", my mother said.
" I agree with you on that Monica but he still have to have some time where he has some fun so he does not get burned out. I am so proud of you son. If there anything else you need please call your mother and I . We love you", my father said as he hugged me. He then moved aside and my mother hugged me as well.
