Hubert Cumberdale is Salad Fingers before the Great War.
Hubert (salad fingers) was an almost vet in the Great War but because he had minor Schizophrenia(hears and sees things that really aren't there), so he stays at his home with his wife Margery, his daughter Yvonne, and Yvonne's lover Jeremy Fisher. Hubert and his family stayed isolated in their homes bomb shelter or as Salad Fingers calls it "safety cupboard" during the war. (The Great War was the worlds worst war that had used nuclear warfare against each other.) The family had been inside of the bomb shelter for about a year when they started to run out of resources. But that was the least of the families problems. Because of the isolation that Hubert had endured his minor Schizophrenia worsened. The hallucinations also had gotten worse as well. He had voices in his head convincing him that his family was the enemy. When they had completely run out of resources Hubert had snapped. He murdered his family and eaten them. Shortly after this the last bomb of the Great War had gone off ending the war and many peoples lives for good.
