"Mom," You shake the sleeping figure on the couch who just groans, slapping your hand away leaving a sting but you persist. You couldn't believe your mom passed out on the couch again, not even concerned that Jimin hadn't come home at all last night after your blow up. You shake her a bit more aggressively.
"WHAT!" She snaps at you, a faceful of alcohol breath hits you. You're a bit taken aback but still let out a sigh you could feel yourself getting angry that she didn't care. You wanted to shout at her irresponsibility, how she treated you but you bit your tongue as you weren't here to argue.
"I have to go to school... could you call Jimin and see where he went?" You ask and she rolls her eyes. Your blood boiling. You harshly grab the arm of the couch trying to let your anger seep into that instead of your voice, you didn't want her to be angry with you, you had enough to worry about with Jimin.
"Why don't you call him?" her breath reeks and clearly has been lacking in hygiene care. You couldn't believe her lack of care for your brother. You try to keep your composure it proving to be a trying task.
"My phone is broken, remember?" You huff before sliding your bag over your shoulder. She just flops back down attempting to go back to sleep. You weren't exactly on her good side either but you never were so it wasn't that big of an issue but Jimin... he was your rock, an annoying rock but still, you wished you had handled things differently last night but you couldn't stand the way he painted you, like a criminal who had stolen his life, like some uncaring theif.
"See you later," you mumble before leaving the house for school. Unlike your usual rush to get through the gates, you actually left at a decent time where you could enjoy the walk. The weather wasn't horrible, a bit chilly but not enough to be of concern. The sky above you is engulfed in light colors as if an artist had moved their brush against the sky to capture the very feeling of happiness and for a moment all those thoughts of trouble left your mind, The trees were starting to come back to life like the beginning of an unfinished sketch and people were out walking animals some alone others with loved ones, you wondered about each person's story and background.
The walk felt quicker this time, you arrived earlier than usual so there weren't as many people out and those that were walked as if they were Zombies, slumped over with bags under their eyes. You observed as New and Sunwoo got into their first argument of the day over math homework, Sunwoo asking if he could just check his answers and New telling him that making fun of him is all laughs and giggles until Sunwoo actually needed his help. You couldn't help but smile to yourself before you felt a sudden sadness with the thought of Jimin and how you both would argue like that too.
"Hey, why do you look so sad?" While you were too lost in thought you hadn't even noticed Kevin had walked over to you, he gave a small smile as you leaned against the brick wall.
"Nothing, it's just early..." You try to shake off the bad mood as you put on a smile and turn to face Kevin who was quite a bit taller than you, he had a big grin on his face and you could see his teeth, Kevin has a beautiful smile that's for sure.
"I do have to admit I didn't expect you to be here this early," Kevin points out as you nudge him with your arm rolling your eyes. It's true you aren't known to be a morning person so it was out of character.
"Owwww," Kevin pouts acting dramatic as you smile before someone catches your attention out of the corner of your eye, he walks past the two of you, he's taller than Kevin and has his hair parted on the left slightly, you recognize him as the guy who stopped you the other day. You turn away from Kevin to try and figure out who it is by reading the tag on his uniform but you're unable to catch it so you turn back to Kevin.
"What was that about?" Kevin asks cocking his head to the side slightly in confusion watching the way you bite your lip slightly.
"I was curious who that guy is," You frown eyebrow furrowed clearly thinking.
"Younghoon?" Kevin says curiously.
"That's his name?" You ask as Kevin responds with a nod.
"Yeah, I have digital art with him," Kevin smiles and you turn to him raising an eyebrow.
"You draw?" You inquire forgetting about Younghoon for a moment.
"Yeah, I'll show you some time-" the bell cuts your conversation short as you let out a sigh before saying your goodbyes and heading off to your first class of the day, which happened to be chemistry. You let out a groan of annoyance at this realization because of who you shared the class with.
"You two have to talk," You turn to your two chem partners who happen to be New and Sunwoo, you got shoved into their group by the teacher because she noticed the two of them constantly arguing and figured you'd be a good buffer for the two.
"Not until he lets me check my work," Sunwoo turns his back on New who has been facing away from Sunwoo the entire morning.
"You two need to stop acting like children, I can't do this lab on my own!" You let out a frustrated groan, having already done the entire set up you just needed them to follow the instructions because this wasn't a one-person type of lab.
"Not until Sunwoo apologies and admits that he needs me," You're on the verge of pulling your hair out, their constant arguing was driving you mad and time was running out for the class, most of the partners were done and already writing up their reports and doing the math involved while you were stuck at the very start.
"Guys. I'm being serious this is an important lab so put away your pride and help me do this and then you can go back to arguing," You pull on Sunwoo's arm pleading with him.
"Please Sunwoo, this can make up for literally hitting me in the face with a soccer ball," You pout guilt-tripping him and he can't deny you so he lets out a defeated sigh calling a truce with New and getting started finally.
"Thank you," You let out and give him a hug starting the lab, you were titrating today and that meant you'd have to carefully watch to make sure you didn't easily ruin the experiment because a few drops over and you could go from a pretty light pink to bright pink.
The experiment, of course, was more rushed as you were cramped for time, and sometime these could take a while so while you and Sunwoo worked together on the experiment New kept track of data. You got it done barely in time but still had the write up to do so you planned to meet up and do it in the library at the end of the day.
