Chapter 2

A Kegger to Remember

Liv joins Ki and her friends and the make a day she won't ever forget

Liv (POV)
I woke up this morning with a smile on my face. Today I was going to hang out with Ki and her friends, including JJ. Ki snapped me last night and asked if i wanted to go fishing with them today. Of coarse, I said yes. And it wasn't just because I had a crush on her friend, no, it was because I want to make new friends. And Ki has been very nice to me.

I start to get ready. I decide to wear a light pink crop top with white ripped shorts. I wore converse with it and a light sweater to go over it. I also put my swimsuit under it just in case.

Later
Ki told me to meet her at her dads dock in "figure 8" whatever that meant. So she sent me her location and i followed it to a mansion that looked a lot like mine. She and her family definitely had money, that's for sure.

I walked up to the dock and saw her sitting with her legs hanging off. She was wearing a white tie dye shirt with shorts that had laces.

When she saw me she stood up and walked towards me. She said
"Hey girl!!"
I said "Heyy!"
And she told me the plan; the boys were going to pick us up in The Pogue (apparently that was one of the boy's boats, she didn't really make it clear). We went into her dad's restaurant and i helped her grab beers from the fridge. We packed them in a cooler and headed out towards the dock. This time the boys were in the boat slowly headed towards us. Ki yelled "come on" and ran towards them. JJ helped her into the boat while it what still moving, then i grabbed JJs hand that was held out for me and hopped on. I waved at the boys and sat next to Ki. She handed me a beer and I sipped slowly, not wanting to get drunk yet. JJ and I kept meeting eyes when we would glance at each other. It made me nervous and i could feel my stomach build with butterflies 🦋. After and hour or two the conversation started to escalate. We were all a little buzzed.
JJ: "So california girl, you wild?"
me: "i've had my moments" i say while laughing
John B: "Are california parties as crazy as i hear?"
Me: "depends, ive definitely been to my share of crazy parties"
Ki: "Let's play truth or dare"
all the boys start laughing and they are getting excited
JJ: "alright bet, I'll go first" "Liv, truth or dare?"
Me: "truth"
JJ: "how many people have you kissed?"
Everyone makes and "oooh" sound and laughs turning to me for an answer
me: "one" "But it was a mistake, he was an ass, you know Californian dudes" i say while laughing. everyone joins in
Pope: "actually we don't" he says and everyone starts laughing even harder.
John B: "ok, my turn. Pope, truth or dare?"
Pope: "Dare"
John B: I dare you to jump in the water with out spilling your beer".
We all laugh and watch pope jump in with his beer, surprisingly, he doesn't spill his beer at all. I make a surprised face and laugh. JJ comes up behind me and says
JJ: "we are all pretty good at preserving our beer" he laughs "it doesn't come easy"
we both laugh and sit back down. this time i'm sitting next to JJ.
Ki: " my turn" she gives me a sly smirk and says "jj truth or dare?"
JJ: "Dare" he says confidently
Ki: "I dare you to teach Liv your beer trick"
I look at Kiara confused and excited at the same time, everyone's laughing and saying "oh no" and "here we go again"
JJ: "You are going to love this." " John B take the wheel"
jj steps up and grabs my hand. He takes me to the edge of the boat and lifts me to the ledge.
Me: "JJ?!" "What are you doing?"
JJ: "trust me, it's great"
Then as john b speeds up i hold on to him and he lifts his beer up a foot away from his face and tips it towards us. the speed of the boat causes the beer to splash all over us and makes it into his mouth. Everyone is laughing and so am I. this was ridiculous but fun. Then I hear a loud thump and get sent over the edge of the boat and thrown into the water. i hit my head pretty hard on my knee from being hurdled. I feel like crying but I don't because I know i'll be fine. i come up from underwater and JJ swims over to me.
Pope: "what the fuck john b?! what was that?!"
John B: "i think i hit a channel, sorry it was dark i wasn't paying attention"
JJ: "oh my god Liv are you ok?!!"
Me: "yeah i think so."
JJ: "holy shit she's bleeding"
I feel my eyebrow with my hand where it is stinging and see blood. I know i'll be ok but JJ pulls me up onto the boat and carry's me to the bench to sit.
Me: "you know i'm fine, i can walk" i say laughing.
JJ laughs and grabs me a towel from the beach bag Ki brought and holds it up to the cut. I wince and suck in air through my teeth at the sudden pressure.
JJ: "I'm sorry"
Me: "Im ok, really" I say reassuringly, but he still looks concerned.
John B: "Liv, i'm so sorry, I wasn't paying atten- "
Me: "please, i'm fine, really. don't be sorry. it was an accident"
