I almost drifted to sleep when I heard someone lie beside me. "Finch dies." She says in nonchalance. She looks exactly like Rapunzel; someone who stayed in a tower for so long that her skin almost looked as if it hadn't seen the sun for a long time. I stare in confusion. She looks back.
"I hate that book." She snatches the book from my hand and tears a page. I stare.
"It's a beautiful day! A perfect day! A day of possibility!" She reads, loud enough for other people to gaze. She snickers and looks at me. "Hi. I'm Keru. Cherubim Steiner."
I must've stared a very long time that she started laughing. I try to collect myself and will to talk. "Dre-."
"I apologize for the sudden interruption but I guess you might want to know that your bicycle's gone." She smirks and bounces away. I search for my ride and saw that it was already taken away by a kid. I sigh.
"Hey Dreon!" I hear her again. She signals me to go with her. I stand. There is something about her that draws me in, like light at the end of a tunnel. Perhaps her charm? I'm not sure. But I go closer.
