I hate that I have to start another one of these by saying "sorry it's been awhile" but I guess I do since it's been almost a month. I really enjoy writing this story, I'm just having a hard time thinking of good plots. So if you have anything, don't hesitate to tell me.
Marvin's PoV
Almost everyone knows that Jamie can't talk, but what they don't know is that he also can't see colors. So I was trying to explain to him what colors were like.
He basically sees in greys like in old movies. It's cool when you think about it, but not seeing color would be awful. You'd never be able to experience a beautiful sunset, or blue waves crashing against a shore, or even just the color of your own shirt.
I went through all the colors of the rainbow, starting with red of coarse. "Red," I explained, "is the color you would think of when describing fire, or blood, or passion. It can mean horrible pain, but it can also mean deep love."
Jamie looked at me and smiled signing 'So red is like what I feel for you.'
"Exactly, I hope you mean love and not hurt though," I replied.
Jamie silently laughed and signed back, 'I definitely meant love.'
I smiled at him and continued to explain, "Orange next. Orange is like a color you would think of for summer. It's the color of a lot of fruits. Orange is honestly a bit boring because there are no real feelings that come with it. It kinda just is."
Jamie furrowed his eyebrows at me and signed 'that's weird.'
"I know it is, but oh well. We can just move on," I said, "Yellow is next. Yellow is the color of so many things like lemons, and sunflowers, and bees, and school buses. It's the color you'd think of if you think of light. It's almost like a darker version of white."
'Wow, I think I actually understand that one,' Jamie signed happily.
I smiled and responded, "Yellow is a nice color because it just seems to make people happy. It is the color that most people use to describe happiness."
Jamie smiled as a reply and I continued, "Next is green. Green is the color of leaves and just nature in general. People usually use green to describe envy."
'Is that why Sean dyed his hair green after Mark dyed his hair, because he was jealous and wanted to be like mark?' Jamie asked.
"Hm, I'd never thought of it like that, but maybe." I replied.
'What else?' Jamie signed.
"Well, after green is blue. Blue is my favorite color. Blue isn't really found much in nature, but it's the color of your tunic and my cape. Blue is usually described as a sad color, but I don't know why. It's a really pretty color," I explained.
Jamie furrowed his brows, clearly concentrating on his thoughts. 'That doesn't make any sense,' he signed, 'but blue is my favorite color too, because of the mystery behind it.' I found it funny that Jamie was taking this as some huge thing that needed to be figured out.
"Ok," I said, "last is purple. Purple is generally described as a royal color because it took a lot of money to dye things purple a long time ago. Purple is the color of a lot of flowers."
'I like purple then, since you get me flowers every valentine's day,' he signed.
I blushed and replied, "The flowers I got you this year were actually red roses."
'Because it's the color of love,' he asked.
"Exactly."
I didn't really like this one, but let me know what you thought in the comments.
Ok, bye peoples.
