With A Smile

CHAPTER 2

"Finally! Our hell week is done, makakapag-laro na ulit ako! Yow Rhys and Mason, mamaya ha." Dan blurted happily after we leave our classroom.

"Kayo na lang muna maglaro. Im gonna have some sleep when I get home. Wala akong maayos na tulog simula last week dahil dito." Mason said, declining the invitation of Dan to play. Halata naman na wala siyang maayos na tulog because of visible bags under his eyes na nakuha niya dahil sa pagpupuyat.

"Sorry man, I'm also gonna have to pass. There's some documents na kailangan ko pa asikasuhin for my college exams." sabi naman ni Rhys. He wanted to play with Dan ofcourse, pero mas kailangan niyang asikasuhin ang mga ito.

"Sure, just don't regret not playing with me kapag naunahan ko na kayong mag-mythic." Dan said while smirking and placing his arms on the shoulders of his friends.

"Napakayabang mo talaga" sabi ni Rhys.
Astang nagsusuntukan naman ang tatlo kaya naman pinagtitinginan na sila ng mga nagdadaan at dahil na din sa ingay na ginagawa nila.

Hallie just rolled her eyes. What a bunch of idiots.

"Shut the fuck up. Hindi ko marinig yung announcement." Inis na sabi ni Vioncei sa tatlo.

They kept quiet, and listened to the announcement of the council from the speakers scattered all around their school.

"To all students, please proceed to the auditorium after your class. Our director has something to announce about the upcoming events of our school."

"Well, looks like no one will be able to get an early sleep, arrange their documents and play their games today huh." Pangaasar ni Hallie sa tatlong lalaki na hindi maipinta ang mukha dahil sa inis.

"C'mon, ngayon pa talaga nila naisipan sabihin ang kung ano man yon?! What a great timing." parang batang pagmumukmok ni Dan. Napabuntung-hininga na lamang si Rhys at Mason. Pinagtawanan lang ni Hallie at Vioncei ang tatlo bago hinila ang mga ito papuntang auditorium.

"Hey, you wanted to sleep diba? Lean on my shoulders. Take a nap habang hindi pa nagsisimula. It looks like it wouldn't be starting anytime soon. Kakaunti pa lang ang mga estudyante dito." Pabulong na sabi ni Hallie kay Mason nang makaupo sila sa loob ng auditorium.

Hallie knows he easily gets tired so she'll let him sleep while leaning on her shoulder,like how they used to do before. Hallie knows Mason needs it.

Hindi na tumanggi pa si Mason at isinandal na lamang niya ang ulo sa balikat ni Hallie. Hindi naman nagtagal ay nakatulog na din ito dahil sa sobrang pagod.

Napansin naman ni Rhys ang posisyon ng dalawa. Napangiti lamang ito at hinayaan sila.

After almost an hour, the auditorium was filled with laughters and noises from students from different levels. They all went silent when their respected director stood in the platform.

"Mason. Mason! The director is here already. Wake up." sabi ni Hallie upang magising ito. Pero mahimbing pa din ang tulog nito kaya naman piningot ni Hallie ang tainga ni Mason at bigla naman itong nagising.

"Ouch! Hal, why did you do that?!" Sabi ni Mason habang hawak niya tainga na piningot ni Hallie.

"You idiot. Kanina pa kita ginigising! Kanina pa andito si Mr. Montes,he's about to speak." natatawang sabi ni Hallie kay Mason.

"Good afternoon students. These past few months, you never failed to make me proud dahil nalalagpasan at natatapos niyo ang mga activities, projects at quizzes na ibinibigay sa inyo. Kahit sabay-sabay at mahirap ang mga ito." the director proudly said, applauding the students for their hard work.
