1 0 a mI slept the whole night through, and I'm not sure whether it was the earbuds or the fact I had a drink that knocked me straight out.
Maybe I should drink more often.
I felt bloated and big today, since I had a lot to eat and drink last night, so decided to take a mid morning run.
Pulling on my trainers, I grabbed my AirPods and checked in the mirror that my hair wasn't a mess. "I'm going for a run." I told Jack.
He chuckles. "Since when do you go for runs?"
"I won't be long." I didn't reply to him, not quite in the mood.
I decided to take the same route as I did on Sunday night, not quite knowing the area we live yet as I had been at work all week - not giving me time to explore.
Letting the music in my AirPods take me into another world, I jogged at my own pace and watched the world around me go by.
Last night was the most fun I had in a while, Jack and Tom get on really well and so do me and Lola, since we had been best friends since the start of secondary school 14 years ago now.
I furrow my brows as I think about why we don't do it more often, why Jack never asks and if I do; he turns his nose up at it.
"Hi."
"Shit." I yell and jump away, turning to see who had tapped my shoulder. "Harry, Jesus Christ you can't do that."
"Sorry. I forget old people jump more." He smirks, taking out an earphone and I had done the same. I hold my had to my heart and was leaning over so my hand was resting on my knee, trying to catch my breath.
"Don't start." I say, turning to walk.
"Hey, can we walk together?" He jogs to catch up with me.
"Uh, why?" I ask.
He shrugs. "New neighbour. I'll welcome you into the neighbourhood! I'll show you the park I like to go to, the little hidden spot I like to go to for some peace and quiet."
"Are you sure you're not going to chop me up?" Harry scoffs at my reply. "Also, you? Some peace and quiet? Are you Harry's twin what's your name?"
"Ha ha. I'll show you, cross the road."
I hesitate, thinking about all the consequences that could happen. But even though Harry was loud, annoying and a cocky little shit - I guess he could be quite sweet.
"Just so you know there's a security camera up there," I point, "so if you're going to chop me up there's no point. They will know it's you."
"I'm not going to bloody chop you up. Just cross the road." He puts his hands on my shoulders, checking to see if there was any cars coming before guiding me across the road.
"Whatever you say."
"Why were you going for a jog? You clearly don't enjoy running." Harry questions. This boy will never run out of questions.
"I do enjoy running!" I exclaim. He raises an eyebrow. "I do! I just have a lot on my mind. Trust me, when you get to my age and you're moved out with your girlfriend, you'll be stressed about everything. Especially when you're not sleeping because of ongoing parties down the street in the new neighbourhood you've moved into."
"Sorry. It's summer, there's always more." Harry purses his lips.
"Oh perfect. That makes things better." I scoff.
