Rumours were working their way through the school.
A little whisper here, an exaggeration there, and bang! You've ruined someone's social life.
Sugawara Koushi was enjoying it. The little juicy but false tidbits of you were spreading like wildfire.
He watched from afar as your "friends" left you, leaving you alone.
My plan is going well.
"Hey! Did you hear..."
"I heard Y/n..."
You didn't know who was shit-talking you behind your back, but you certainly weren't very happy.
If this is payback for that time I lied to my parents about going out, I'm sorry, but please make it stop!
It didn't. The lie evolved and became the truth, since you were denying it so much, and had no evidence to back it up.
At first you were angry, then sad. Then lonely.
You really needed someone to talk to, but everyone was avoiding you.
You put the hood over your head, trying to not be seen by the person who was making the bend.
"L/n-san!"
Daichi?
"Hey, Daichi," you stammered out.
"You look sad. Is this about the rumour?"
You nodded.
"Anyway my friend Suga wants to invite you to our practice. Do you want to come?"
"Yeah, I guess I can. It's not like I have any friends left to go out with, anyway."

The boys volleyball practice ended and Suga had offered to walk you home.
"I heard about the rumour. Is everything okay?"
"N-no, Suga."
He pulled you into his warm chest as you cried.
"Why would anyone make up something like that? I don't do that kind of shit! Everyone knows that, or at least I thought they did." Suga held you tight as tears streamed down your face.
Suga didn't regret a thing. The little bit of gossip he made up made you vulnerable for him to get close to you. You'd rely on anyone now.
"It's okay, Y/n-san. Everything will be fine, just as long as you stay with me. I'll make sure no one harms you ever again. You won't need anyone else. Just stay with me."
You believed him.
