Pia brought up the subject that night while she and Vinícius were curled up in bed, basking in each other's presence.
Vinícius knew something was on her mind, but he waited patiently for her to bring it up. He ran his hand up and down her back, leaning down occasionally to press his lips to hers.
"Ada thinks we should get married. I do too."
Vinícius nodded, "I'm very sorry, sweetheart. I never gave any thought to what your traditions may be. It was very inconsiderate of me, and I should have already had a plan. I'd love to marry you."
Pia laughed, "I thought you were rejecting me for a minute there."
Vinícius chuckled, kissing her sweetly. "I would never dream of it. I'm sure there were better ways to start off. But, I am truly sorry that I haven't proposed traditionally. I honestly don't know much about human weddings. I'll figure it out."
"Thank you, Vinícius. Let's just do something simple, no big plans. How about next week in the gardens?" Her brown eyes shone with child-like excitement.
Vinícius gave a hearty laugh, "So eager. Your wish is my command."
"Is there any traditions for demons?" She sat up on her arms so she could face him.
"There's a little ceremony, just you and me, before our mating. We call it soul-binding," he whispered.
Pia blushed, "Oh."
He gave another soft chuckle, "You're adorable when you blush."
She hadn't given much thought to being intimate with Vinícius. She loved him, and she was definitely physically attracted to him, but she had dedicated the last few weeks to discovering herself, to grow her relationship, and strengthen her bond with Ada. It finally felt like she had control over her life, and she was very happy.
With renewed confidence and fiery passion, she leaned up to press her lips to Vinícius'. He tugged her gently so she was sitting on top of him, her legs straddling his stomach. She couldn't help but release a small moan at the warmth that filled her belly. She reached up to tangle her fingers in his hair, never releasing his mouth from her own.
Vinícius released her for some much needed air, grinning at the pride that swelled inside him when he took in Pia's disheveled appearance and lustful gaze. "You're so beautiful. I love you."
Pia huffed, "Why'd you stop?"
He gave a loud guffaw of a laugh, pulling her down so she could cuddle close. "Don't you want to wait until we are married, isn't that how it works? Because if we keep going the way we were, I'm not sure we'd be able to stop," he said truthfully.
She released a sigh, a small pout still on her lips, "You're right, but I already know I am going to marry you, so why does the extra week even matter?"
"You want me to going?" Vinícius asked, shocked.
"Maybe not all the way," she mumbled, her cheeks flaming. "I love you, Vinícius."
"I love you and Ada with all my heart," he murmured, "and I would never want either of you to feel like you had to do something."
"I know," she leaned up to kiss him sweetly. "You would never make me do anything I wouldn't want to do because you are my mate, our protector, and you are so caring and kind. I'm so thankful for you."
It was Vinícius' turn to blush. "I could say the same about you, Pia. You're an extraordinary women, and such a great sister."
"Don't try to out-do me," Pia giggled, slapping his chest gently.
Vinícius grinned, nuzzling her cheek. He was blissed out, and nothing could be better than this moment.
