I can't get that gray tom off my mind. Why was he folliwng me? Did he want to help me? Maybe he'll come back..?
Fallen Leaves shook his head, Rock would've noticed this cat when he entered the tunnels. Unless the cat came through one of the exits in the ceiling.
Even if the cat comes back he won't be able to see me. I'm dead.
He heard mewling and followed it. Going down tunnels with twists and turns. He then came to face a big boulder and mewling behind it. Kits!?
Fallen Leaves raced down the tunnels he came from and heard new voices.
"I'll go first," One cat said.
"You're blind!" Objected a snobby cat. Fallen Leaves sighed, that cat is just scared and trying to cover it up.
"And you can see perfectly in the dark, I suppose!" Another cat snapped.
It's raining, and the river will get high, I hope these strange cats can make it. Wonder what they want anyways, perhaps I could guide them in the tunnels?
Fallen Leaves ran down the tunnels to where he heard voices
The gray tom! Its him! How!?
Fallen Leaves ran even faster to reach the other cats. Hopeful that these cats could help save the kits he found earlier.
He fell into step with the gray tom, and tested to see if he could touch him with his flank, to help lead them to the kits.
"I'm leading, Breezepaw!" He hissed and barged me away.
So I can help them!
"What are you talking about? I'm back here!" The newly announced Breezepaw snapped.
So that's what the obnoxious cats name is.
"There's no one near you, Jaypaw." A calm voice spoke up.
The gray cats' name. How strange, he looks like Jay's Wing, and his name is partially the same.
I watched as Jaypaw tasted the air, and the fur along his spine rose as I brushed against him once more.
"I will walk with you, my friend, as you once walked with me," Fallen Leaves whispered for Jaypaw to hear.
He then stopped dead, "I could not leave you here to walk alone, when you walked with me like a brother."
Jaypaw blinked and then asked, "Am I dreaming?"
"No," Fallen Leaves whispered.
"Why did we stop?" The snobby cat mewed crossly from the back.
A she-cat's nose flicked Jaypaw's tail. "Are you okay?" She asked.
"Fine," Jaypaw told her. He lowered his mew to a whisper so only Fallen Leaves could hear him. "Have you seen them?" He asked and Fallen Leaves knew what he was asking.
"I know where they are." I pressed my pelt to Jaypaw's, urging him to go forward. "But we must hurry," I warned him.
Jaypaw resisted. "Why should I trust you? You couldn't even get yourself out of these tunnels!"
