After one and a half years of brutal training, the once thirty kids were now down to only four, and their final trial was right in front of them. They have been trained without unlocking their semblances and with minimal aura, meaning they know how to fight without relying on them. But today, today was the day that they would be given their semblances, not unlocked.

In a small white room, four medical beds, similar to those they first laid on more than a year ago, were lined against the walls, two on each side of the room. Needles, wires, tubes, and much more medical-like equipment was attached to the beds. Dr. Mortem, the head scientist of the program, discovered an 'experimental' way to transfer a specific semblance to an individual.

"This better work, Mortem, we've spent more than a year preparing these kids; if your semblance transfer fails, all that time would be lost," Ironwood said from an observation room overlooking the lab with the beds.

"Don't worry, James, that last test of the machine worked, Agents Arrow and Inferno can advocate that," Dr. Mortem chuckled as he glanced at the two Agents who had volunteered to undergo the test many months ago.

"It worked just fine General," Inferno smirked a flame appearing in her hand.

Ironwood simply shakes his head and looked back to the one-way-mirror that allowed them a full view of the laboratory, "Yes, but what about the countless other tests that failed?"

"It'll work, James," Mortem simply responded and looked to the mirror just as the four remaining kidnaped teens entered the room.

Alice was taken from Atlas and being both the only girl and faunus. Trainers noted her surviving and stealth traits, which led the to espionage and close hand-to-hand fighting she received during the later stages of the training.

Samuel was taken from an orphanage in Mistral. The trainers noted traits of a born leader in him and quickly put him through brutal leadership training along with a general understanding of tactical warfare and strategy.

Oliver was part of a roaming band of bandits that the Atlas took out just north of their military outpost in Vacuo. After the bandit camp raid, Oliver was brought into the program, and within the first month of training, he had forgotten his past, like most other subjects. He was noted in his much larger muscle development rate and his fascination with both weapons and explosives.

Alex, the final member, was taken from an orphanage in Atlas. Agents who went to retrieve subjects for the program found Alex's curiosity towards tinkering and robotics interesting, so they quickly added him to the program.

The Atlas scientists in the room and robotic guards led the four now young teens towards the beds. Each of them laid on the bed as the scientists began preparing the machines, placing masks over the teen's mouth and nose and locked their bodies in place, before carefully inserting multiple needles attached to tubes into their veins. Once all the preparations were done, all Atlas personnel, but the robots, left the room, locking the door securely behind them.

General Ironwood and the others were soon joined by the Atlas scientists' in the observation room, all of them going to computers and monitoring screens. "Beginning Semblance transfer stage 1," one scientist said before twisting a nob and pulling a lever down.

A moment later, a bright essence began flowing through the tubes attached to each of the teens' veins. The second the essence reached them, their bodies began to jolt and convulse rapidly, the restraints keeping them from falling off the beds.

"Stage 2 beginning now," The scientist said, pulling another lever down. A low hum started and quickly grew louder with every passing second. The bright essence flowing into the four teens grew brighter and brighter alongside the hum.

"Final stage, starting now."

The hum grew almost deafening, and the bright essence lit up the whole room, blinding anyone who stared into it. And almost in an instant, the blinding light disappeared, and the humming stopped. Everyone looked into the room, most of them expecting the worst, and saw that the four teens were alive, but the robots were nothing but ash and molten metal on the floor.

"There vitals are stable, and the transfer was a success. They have their new semblances," Mortem said, looking down at the computer screen in front of him a massive grin on his face.

Ironwood walked over to Mortem and laid a hand on his shoulder, "You really did it, old friend. With this technology, we may just stand a chance against her."

~Later that night, in Dr. Mortem's office.

"The experiment was a complete success. The four test subjects have received their semblances, and after some time to rest, they will begin learning how to use their newfound power." Mortem said into his scroll.

"And what of James? Does he suspect anything?"

"No ma'am. He still believes me to be the same man I was when we met so long ago, oh so much has changed since those days. He believes all that I have told him. In due time I will be able to begin producing more subjects for our...your army."

"Good, once your tests are all done, begin creating more soldiers in secret. I will have one of my operatives meet with you soon."

Hey everyone sorry for how late it took me to write this I've been super busy over the past couple of weeks and didn't have much motivation or time to write this. The next chapter probably won't come out for a little bit since I'll be celebrating my b-day tomorrow and I'll be starting my next semester soon. Anyways I hope you all enjoyed the chapter!
