well, he couldn't argue that it wasn't true.

but for the first time in his life, he just wanted to remain optimistic that maybe, just maybe, this would work out exactly how he hoped it would.

he's been through it before, multiple times, actually. but there are three most notable experiences.

one was an exchange student from the u.s., they were kind, respectful, something not very many were these days. sure, he was a little on the average side in terms of looks, but he didn't care. they were in love, or at least, he thought they would be, but life is a cruel mistress and he was the poor lover to believe it would remain faithful.

the student he had fallen in love with, had fallen in love with a girl in his class. she was sweet, pretty, and someone people could argue was way out of his league, but life treated them well. much better than life treated him at least. last time he saw them, they were expecting their first child.

he congratulated them privately. they didn't respond. understandable.

the next one wasn't as good of a memory.

this boy was devilishly handsome, at least to him he was. he was the one confessed to and he accepted it almost immediately. he thought life was finally giving him a chance, a chance at love, a chance at possibly being happy.

they say a picture is worth a thousand words,

but what do you do when a thousand words aren't worth a picture?

his lips seemed to only know how to speak in one language: lies. he lied about everything in their relationship. he told him he was well-off, he told him he was the only boy he had eyes for, he told him that no one would get in the way of their relationship.
