Doc's pov:

I'm really worried about Y/n knee. It's starting to bruise and it's getting infected. Plus, she can barely walk. And the kid isn't letting anyone near her. It's kinda interesting and weird.

Man, I could need some alcohol right about now.

I need to give Y/n more meds because that infection will get worse. And she'll die. How 10k has been acting lately, I'm pretty sure he won't take it well. Even Murphy. Back in Philly, I thought for sure they were going to kill each other.

But anyway let's go get 10k away from y/n for a few minutes.

-author's pov-

As Doc set out, he mange to get 10k to leave for a few minutes. But he came right back as fast as he could, but luckily doc had time to check on your knee. It isn't getting any better. You could see the worried look in Doc's eyes. But you just played along like you didn't see it.

You could still feel the pain in your knee. So you decided just to close your eyes for a minute. You ended up falling asleep. (A/n: sorry I just like how characters sleep all the time. Lmao)

While you were asleep, the group drove a little bit more but stopped to use the bathroom. When they stop, Doc woke you up. Because of the bathroom stop. So, you got up and walked towards Addy to get toilet paper. You said thanks and walked to use the bath in private.

"Nice shot kid!" Doc yelled at 10k

"Amish Zs. You got to be kidding me," Addy said annoyed

"When the outbreak first started, they tried to quarantine themselves to stop the spread of the infection," Charlie announced after Addy's comment.

"Believe it or not, some Amish people owned me money and or drinks," You yelled to them.

"Why am I not surprised," Murphy replied

"Oh shut up Murphy," You yelled back

"You know what I don't get. If the Zs didn't spread the virus, then how are we all infected," Addy questioned

"Best guess I heard is, the virus was spread by the bird virus. It lies dormant until you die," Charlie answered

"Night of the Living Dead. Great movie, sucky reality," Doc referred to the movie.

"Preach it," You yelled back

After Murphy used the bathroom, everyone got back in the truck and started forward once again. While sitting in the back, 10k shared a story with you, Doc, and Cassandra.

You are pov:

"When my pa was wounded, he told me to tie him up before he turned. Made me promise to show him mercy when he died. Kill the brain, you know? I couldn't do it. I couldn't hurt my pa, no matter what he'd become. I stared into his eyes for the longest time, just looking for a sign he was still in there," 10k told

This surprised me because that is the most I have ever heard 10k talked. Plus, he had to mercy his father. I wouldn't be able to do that, even if he did all those things to me.

"Did you see anything," Doc asked but all 10k gave was that look saying no with his eyes

"What did you do," Cassandra asked the question was probably going though everyone who heard the story.

"I killed it," 10k answered without emotion.

"Damn kid, you put down your dad," I said looking at 10k
