The next morning came.

I found myself laying in my bed. I sat up and looked around the room, confused. When did I get here? How did I get here? I was still in my clothes from yesterday. Did I come back to the room and pass out in the bed?

I sat up straighter and I noticed a shadow by the door. I jumped out the bed and I started to get defensive.

"Whoever's there, you better have a good excuse to bother me!" I growled.

"Relax, your Majesty. It's just me." Jane stepped out from the shadows and smiled at me.

"Jane." I relaxed my position.

"I'm just glad to see you awake." Jane stared at me.

"What do you mean?" I started to get self conscious.

"The guards brought you into your room last night. You fell into the lake when you passed out. I'm just relieved to see you awake and alert. As usual." She explained.

"Oh." I seriously fell into the lake? How stupid and careless of me. "Does Aro know?"

"No. He doesn't. And if he does, he won't bother you about it." Jane promised.

"Thanks, Jane. Are you and Alec done getting things ready?" I asked.

"Yes. Alec and the guards are getting the last minute things together. Do you have anything specific that you want to bring?" Jane asked.

"Um, some things, but I can get them myself." I smiled.

"Ok. Well, I will be outside in the courtyard if you need me." Jane smiled at me and walked out the room.

I stared after her. How did I fall into the lake? How did the guards find me? I looked down at myself and I was dry. No trace of water or any struggles or anything. I was fine.

I walked over to my closet and picked out a black dress from my red and black collection of dresses. That's basically the only thing that I got to wear here. Black and red. After I got dressed, I walked over to the mirror and looked at myself.

My reflection hadn't changed from yesterday. I still had that long dark reddish-brown colored hair that fell behind me to the middle of my back. The features in my face didn't change, either. Everything was fine. Why didn't I remember anything from yesterday?

I finished getting dressed and I walked to the lake. I walked into the yard to see that it was empty. Good, some time to myself. I sat down like I did yesterday. I opened my eyes to see that the lake was frozen. I froze the lake? When?

I stood up and threw fire into the lake to unfreeze it.

"Be careful, queen. You don't want to set everything on fire, do you?"

I turned around and hissed.

"Woah! Ok! Calm down." It was Aro. He held up his hands as if to surrender.

I sighed and relaxed.

"Aro. What the hell are you doing here?" I wasn't in the mood to talk to him.

"What? You don't want to thank the person who saved your life last night?" Aro smiled.

I froze. Aro pulled me out of the water? Even though I didn't really like him, I was grateful.

"Thank you, Aro. I am grateful." I grabbed the end of my dress and bowed to him.

"You don't have to bow to me. But, I am flattered." Aro laughed

Ugh..I sat up and glared at aro.

"I am leaving In the next few minutes. I, along with everyone else, is ready to go. Goodbye." I turned my back to Aro and walked to the lake. I waited till he left until I focused on the center of the water.

I closed my eyes and dipped my finger into the center of the lake which caused it to ripple. I blew on the ripples and the water departed and expanded to reveal a staircase. I stood up and checked behind me to see if I was being followed. No one was there. I walked down the staircase and heard the water close up on top and behind me.

I made this place as a escape and a faster way to get into the castle in secret. Plus, it was just something I did by accident when I was bored and playing around. It worked at least.

I reached the water door at the bottom of the stairs. I did the same thing that I did in the beginning and the door opened.

"Welcome your, Majesty." The monitor responded.

I walked past the door and into the middle hall of the castle. I checked the halls. They were empty.

"Bella." Well, almost empty.

I looked up at Alec.

"Yes, Alec." I responded a little too fast.

"I was looking for you. You are all ready to go. Everyone is waiting for you in the front of the castle." He explained.

"Thank you, Alec." I smiled. I knew there was a reason I trusted him to run this place while I wasn't here. I would never trust Aro.

"You are welcome, your Majesty. Is there anything else you need before you depart?" He asked.

"Yes." I reached onto my wrist and took off one of my bracelets and handed it to Alec. He looked at it confused.

"What is this?"

"I want you to have this and I'm not taking no for a answer." I opened his hand and dropped it into his palm. He twisted it around his finger.

"What is this?" He repeated.

"It's a red gem bracelet. I was given two when I became Queen. I have one more and a necklace Just like it. I want you to have the one." I watched his expression.

He didn't show what he must of been feeling. "You've never been thus nice towards anyone but me and my sister." Alec still toyed with the bracelet.

"Yeah. And a few other people. Don't get used to it. It may not last long so I recommend that you take it. No questions asked." I ordered.

Alec smiled. "Thanks, Isabella."

"Also, You don't have to listen to anything that Aro says unless it's important. I left you in charge, not him. Ok?" I continued.

"Yeah. I get it. I will take the responsibility seriously." He promised.

"Good."

I heard footsteps coming from behind me.

"Your Majesty, you are ready to depart. Everyone is waiting for you in the courtyard."

I turned and faced the guard.

"Thank you. I will be on way." I dismissed him.

I turned back to Alec who has already put on the bracelet and was starting at me.

"You need to go  Bella. Everything and everyone will be fine here. I got it. You trust me and I never break that trust." Alec looked me in the eyes.

"Ok. Just let me, Jane, or any of the guards know if you need anything or if I need to come back." I stalled.

"I will. Now go!" He practically pushed me out to the courtyard.

"Alright! Alright!" I yanked him off  and continued to walk by myself.

I reached the courtyard and I saw that there was a crowd of people near the car that we are going to take. The car was black with tinted windows to keep out the sun. It didn't have a license plate but that wasn't a problem. There were guards surrounding the car and the gates that we needed to pass through. The car was small and long but inside had plenty of room for about 5 people.

"Your Majesty. We just wanted to wish you good luck with your trip and we wanted to see you depart." The youngest of the group spoke out amongst the others.

I smiled and thanked them. We all gathered inside the car and waited till the gates were open. I sat in the back with Jane and a guard. The other two guards sat in the front two seats.

I heard the engine rev and the gates finally opened. I heard cheers and goodbye's behind us as we pulled away. The further we got, the lower the cheers and farewells got. Soon they disappeared completely and we were soon out of Volterra.
