I stood there staring at him emotionless. I didn't know what to do nor did I know who this person was. Was he a human? Did humans have gold eyes? Vampire? What?

"Who are you?" He whispered.

I ignored him. I turned to leave when he caught my arm.

"Let go of me." I hissed.

He did. "Answer my question. I won't repeat myself."

"I'm not telling you a damn thing. Not until I know who you are." I cross my arms.

He sighed. "My name is Edward Cullen. Happy?"

"No. I'm Isabella. The Volturi Queen." I responded.

"Queen?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah. And?" I questioned.

"So, should I be more respectful?" Edward smiled.

"Not till I tell you to. Now listen, you never saw me. Understood?" I instructed.

"Yes ma'am." He laughed.

"Don't." I sigh.

I turned and left. The way back seemed longer than the way there. Maybe because my head was so filled with him. Why did he kill all of those elk? Why were his eyes gold? I blocked those thought as soon as they came. Why was I thinking about him?

I sigh. Why was life so complicated? Even in the supernatural world.

I reached the house and it somehow seemed different. Where was the car? Where were the guards? Jane? It seemed very vacant. I walked inside the house to see that it was also empty. Where was everyone? I caught a scent and it brought me back to the gate. I saw a note taped to it.

Your Majesty Bella,

Me and the guards went hunting for humans in the woods and other places. We will be right back. Please don't draw a lot attention to yourself. Please.

Jane

I ripped up the note and went into the house. Good. They went hunting. That gives me time to myself. What was he doing in the woods at that time? Why did he hunt animals? Why did the name Edward ring a bell? So many questions, not enough answers.

Someone lightly knocked against the door that I almost didn't hear it. Who would think you bother me at this time? Who knows that I live here? On the other side of the door stood him.

I crossed my arms and tilted my head annoyed. Edward didn't seem to notice or care about my annoyance.

"Hello, Isabella." His voice rang.

"What do you want?" I questioned.

"I can't see the newly arrived queen?" He chuckled.

"No. What do you want?" I repeated.

"Fine. I wanted to know what you were doing here and I wanted to learn more about you." He confessed.

"You want to learn about me?" I froze.

He nodded. "If you don't mind, that is."

"I don't really trust anyone so you have to prove your loyalty to me." I challenged.

"Sure. I don't mind. Can I come in?" He asked.

I thought about it. "Sure. What could it hurt." I stepped aside and let him in.

"I see your a fan of black and red." He inspected.

"Guilty as charged." I shrugged.

"It's cute." He approved.

"Thanks." I roll my eyes.

Edward continued to look around the house. He didn't touch anything, he just inspected. I admired that.

"Now, what kinds of things do you want to know?" I asked.

Edward stopped and faced me. He shoved his hands into his pockets.

"I want to know about just you. Where you came from. Your background and experiences and stuff like that." Edward shrugged.

My background?

"I...It's kind of weird and complicated. It's not that interesting." I refused.

"Tell me anyway. If you don't mind." Edward smiled.

I sigh. It's been a while since I've dug up the past.

"Well...It was a few decades ago..."
