I looked through the car window up at the huge building in front of me. It's tall walls and small windows had a way of always sending shivers down my arms.
I would be coming here every morning five days a week, for eight hours for nine out of twelve months. No matter if I would fit in or not, or if everyone hated me.
"Well kiddo, this is it," My mom said turning my attention to her.
"Yup..." I said my voice strained as I tried to swallow the large lump that was growing in my throat.
I watched my mom's smile grow. "You'll be fine," She said, looking at me and pulling some of the hair from my face, "Now you better hurry before you're late to your first class!"
I sighed and opened up the car door and stepped out, slinging my backpack across my shoulder. I turned around to face my mom and forced a fake smile on my face.
"Okay, okay, I'll hurry" I said and then quickly added, "I love you, see you after school-if I don't die on my first day."
"I love you too!" My mom called as I shut the door.
I watched her drive away getting more Nervous. I was alone now. I didn't know anyone here...
I slowly pivoted and looked at the school again. A large sign flashing Welcome Back Students! Grabbed my attention as I stood there not wanting to have to go in. The school was at least ten times bigger than my old school.
My feet dragged forward against the concrete the rubber soles of my shoes grinding against the rough patches and loose pebbles. I slowly made my way to the main entrance, my mind wandering trying to calm myself down.
I found myself opening the door and was jerked from my thoughts by a loud tidal wave of sound coming from kids who were glad to see each other after the summer.
The noise buzzed around me like bee's chattering to plants as they moved around the plants moving pollen to and fro.
I glanced down at my schedule for something to do as I felt the hairs of the back of my neck prickle as though someone was watching me.
I tried to shrug the prickling away but it persisted so I just ignored it and started to make my way to my locker.
"321......322....322..." I read the locker numbers under my breath as I passed to give me something to do.
Finally I was able to see 342. I walked up to it and started trying to open it. ....6....27....49....The locker clicked open and I heaved my backpack inside.
"So you're the new kid huh?"
Heyo! So I know this chapter is pretty short, the next one will be longer I promise! I hope you have a good day/night!
