I turned around and saw a girl with strawberry blonde hair, light blue eyes and expensive looking clothes looking at me.

"Um... Yea.." I said slightly nervous about what this girl wanted.

There was deafening silence for a moment but the blonde smiled and held out her hand. "I'm Hanna"

I reached out my hand after forcing it to stop hacking and I shook Hanna's hand noticing her fancy manicure.

"I'm Stacy," I said, trying to break the new found silence.

"Well Stace," Said Hanna pulling her hand back to wrap around her binder. "There are a few things you should know to survive in this school."

I raised an eyebrow and cut in, "They've already given me a tour and told me about all the clubs and sports."

Hanna laughed, throwing back her long hair, shaking her head, "I don't mean that boring stuff, I mean the stuff that you can actually use. Like what teachers are easy to manipulate and suck up to and get what you want around here. And who's really in charge."

I tilted my head slightly and asked, "doesn't principal Baker run the school, wouldn't he be in charge?"

Hanna giggled pulling a strand of hair away from her face, "No silly, I'm in charge! My dad's. Given almost everything to this school and anything I want he can make happen."

"Isn't that kind of like bribery?" I said already knowing the answer.

"No it's called power and money." Hanna said, faking a yawn. "Well this is all sooooo very interesting but we kinda have to go to class.

There was a silence when I didn't know what to do and it made my ears ring.

"Well, check who you have for homeroom," Hanna said, breaking the silence while picking at her nails.

Mrs. Hales, classroom 203," I said not having to check the paper they gave me because I had had it memorized the day I got it in the mail.

"Great!" Said Hanna as she smiled, showing off her perfect white teeth. "I have her too! Anyway, we should probably start heading there before the bell rings."

I nodded and turned around, grabbing my own binder from my locker and locking it.

Hanna had already started to head through the crowded hallways and I had to run to keep up with her.

I couldn't help but notice that people parted around her like they were the Red Sea and she was Moses.

At least all one them, but one. There was a tall kid in glasses with his nose in a book who didn't see Hanna coming.

When Hanna got close to him she shoved him out of the way.

"OMG!" She shouted, making my ears ring. "Watch where you're going nerd! You almost ruined my nails"

"Hanna..." I muttered so only she and the boy who was now on the ground could hear. "You're the one who shoved him, you could have just walked around him."

Hanna rolled her eyes, "He was in my way," She said, simply continuing to walk down the hall.

I grabbed her arm as she walks walking away to make her turn around.

"What the heck?!" She asked rolling her eyes, "We're gonna be late for class,"

"So is this dude you shoved into the floor, help him up," I said crossing my arms.

The boy was looking up at me and then Hanna and then at me again.

Hanna's mouth was open slightly and her eyebrows were wrinkled in disgust.

"No way do I want to touch that nerd again!"  Hanna said and before I could stop her she stormed away.

I reached out my hand and helped the boy up. "I'm so sorry..."

"It's fine she's always like this," He muttered, grabbing his book from off the floor and heading into a classroom.

I half ran half walked to room 203 and made it into the only open seat just as the bell rang.

I could hear Hanna's pouting from the back of the room as I got my planner out.

"My bestie Jess is in a different home room..." Hanna whined like a two year old would have over not getting a toy that they had begged and begged for.

"Hello Class and good morning! My name is Mrs. Hale and I will be your home room and English Arts teacher"

I looked around at the rest of the silent class who were all looking at Mrs. Hale and then I looked back at her as well.

"Normally, you would use this time as a study hall of sorts to get your assigned homework down. But seeing as this is the first day of school and you have no assignments to do, you will have no homework."

Mrs. Hale smiled at the class and I could see traces of white in her black hair and wrinkles in the corners of her eyes.

"Today there will be an assembly going over the rules and events this year, but first attendance."

Mrs. Hale called out everyone's name in order by their last names and all the students responded when she called their name.

"Now, the assembly should be soon so you can talk among yourselves until they announce it." Mrs. Hale sat back down at her desk and the room was soon filled with the chatter of students once again.

"This assembly is always so boring..." Grumbled Hanna's voice from behind me, "All they do is tell us the bogus new rules and try to get us to be excited about being trapped here for eight hours a day."

Just then the intercom turned and a female voice filled the classroom saying, "Will all highschool students please make their way to the auditorium for a start of the year assembly."

The intercom clicked off and everyone stood up still chattering to themselves as they made their way out.

The halls were even more crowded then they had been in the morning as they all made their way through two double doors.

People streamed in through the doors and sat down still talking to their friends.

I sat in a row all by myself taking out my sketchbook to try to draw while I waited.

I looked up and then I saw him.

Hm...... I wonder who she sawwwwww.... hue hue hue
