Slender Man?
I didn't know if this was a r/nosleep post or r/slenderman. Sorry if you think this is in the wrong subreddit... This happened a few months ago, before I had even heard of reddit (keep in mind I was a long time lurker). I didn't really have many places to put it though. My tumblr blog is full of funny useless shit I reblog, my Wordpress is strictly for stories I have running through my head, and Facebook... Well, I've already been called insane for this, and wasn't about to be committed. But what happened that night was true. Even though it was months ago, I remember it perfectly. My grandparents own two lots in a small campsite in West Virginia. All you horror buffs know West Virginia is known for its paranormal sightings. Me and my dad would stay there for weekends on end, but when he and his girlfriend broke up, and he got evicted from his house, we were forced to live there for a few months. My grandparents put a storage shed on the second lot, and two beds so we could stay there. Me and my dad lived together in a shed the size of a room. I didn't mind though. It was decent, and we kept it somewhat clean. One problem we had, though, was bathrooms. If you had to piss, you could walk across to the camper. But for everything else you had to ride up to a bath house. Very inconvenient for a girl who needs daily showers. So I drove up to the bath house. It was night, because I always wait for the last minute. It wasn't too far from us. I pulled up to the door and parked, getting my things together. The lights inside were off, the only light coming from a small flood light at the top of the building. I walked in and looked forward toward the showers. And there I saw him. It was a perfect outline of a long suited body, long arms, and just enough light to see that he had no face. I stood, fear stricken. I forced my self to turn on the lights. They flickered, and when they were finally on, the figure was gone. Now, my common sense kicked in and told me it was just a shadow, that my mind had made it look like something it wasn't. I turned the lights back off to see if the shadow would still be there and what could have caused it. Nothing. Blackness. Not even a slight variance in shade. I walked cautiously to the showers, examining them for an explanation. Nothing. I ran back out of the building and drove away. I didn't have a shower there that night or for a few nights after. That weekend, my friend came up. For privacy's sake, let's call her Jane. She was the first person I had told about the sighting. She was a little disturbed but claimed she believed me. I showed her where I had seen him. After conversing with her and her parents (we started a conversation on the paranormal. They didn't know about my sighting.) we had found that the bath house was always considered haunted. I wasn't the only one who had seen a slender figure there. I had asked who the other people were, seeing as my dad knew everyone in the park, I was hoping I could talk to them about it. But each one had left membership within the same season. That season had passed, and I haven't left. I still see him sometimes, but I haven't felt too bothered after that one night. I don't feel too paranoid about it. And I certainly don't feel compelled to keep a camera on me at all times. I'm sorry if I wasted your time, r/nosleep. I just needed to get my story out there.
