A long day of hardwork and training was what really tired you out. You were currently on your way back home, sweaty and ready to just fall asleep in the comfort of your bed. But, alas, your childhood friend was right beside you and engaging with you in a conversation.
Izuku Midoriya has always been with you, through the bad and the good. And you loved him, but you would never tell him that in fear of ruining everything.
"Y/n? A-are you okay? Am I r-rambling too much?"
You immediately snapped out of the daze you didn't even know you had been in. You flinched and looked over towards the green-haired male, worried you upset him.
"N-No, Izu-kun! I was just.. thinking,"
You smiled sheepishly, gripping onto the straps of your backpack tighter.
"I guess our training today really tired me out.."
Izuku nodded and smiled, rubbing the nape of his neck whilst not daring to look at you. He let out a breathy sigh and chuckle before speaking again.
"Yeah.. I guess so. A-Aizawa-sensai hasn't gone too easy on us the past few days."
He glanced towards you, only to look away when he found the small smile he loved on your face. He could almost sense his face flaring up with a passionate liking for you.
Was it embarrassing? Yeah. Was he going to admit it? Maybe..
Izuku may have been a bit too deep in thought because he walked straight into a pole and hit his head, the impact causing something to fall out of his backpack.
You gasped and immediately rushed to his aid.
"I-Izu-kun! Are you alright?!"
You helped him up off the ground as he laughed it off.
"Y-Y-Yeah, Y/n-chan/kun... I just wasn't looking where I was going."
You sighed and let him go as he stood upright, fixing the position of his bag. He smiled to you and you blushed, looking away.
"I guess this is my stop, Y/n-chan/kun.. goo-goodnight."
You waved as he walked away and closed the door to his house behind him. When he was out-of-sight, you let out a breath you didn't even know you were holding.
But, as you were making your own stride back towards your home, something yellow caught your eye. Looking down, you were surprised to find a single lemon laying on the ground.
A note accompanied the sour fruit, and you looked through it.
'Don't get in trouble, Izuku. Have a good day at school. :)'
Even if it was a note from his mother, it was still adorable. He must've forgotten about it and that was why it was still in his bag and not eaten.
But, what you didn't know and possibly never will,
Was that he, too, loved you.
