The game...
Just on time the two boys made it to the venue and sat down before the game started. Somehow Harry had got them front row seats which Louis was over the moon about even if he had never been to a basketball game before and wasn't even too sure how the game worked.
The court began to fill with a sea of players and his sapphire eyes scanned the area for a certain curly haired lad. Zayn didn't miss when Louis eyes lit up and a smile crept onto his face when he noticed Harry jogging out in his jersey with his unruly brown curls tied loosely in a red bandana.
Zayn also didn't miss when Harry scanned the crowd for Louis and grinned the same huge smile after finding him staring straight back at him locking eyes with a smile like sunshine on his face. Louis gave him a shy little wave as his heart raced in his chest to which Harry replied with a nod and smile before jogging off to a huddle of teammates.
Once the game had started Louis was engrossed despite having an intense lack of knowledge of basketball and sports in general. All he knew was that if Harry's team got the ball in the hoop they scored which would lead to winning and that was enough knowledge for him.
Louis - although he didn't understand sports -thought Harry was doing pretty well. He saw Harry had full control over the ball a few times and almost made it to the hoop so he assumed they were playing well.
"They're playing pretty well right?" Louis cutely wondered out loud to Zayn and just as Zayn opened his mouth to respond the ball dropped into opposite hoop making Louis sink back into his seat with furrowed brows and an adorable little pout as he let out a quiet huff of annoyance.
"Well they were..." Zayn shrugged hiding his smirk at a stroppy Louis who crossed his shaven arms over his chest and sulked. "I don't even like sports" he whined with his lips still set in a pout. He didn't care for sports so he was never usually this worked up about a team losing but he wanted Harry to win.
Zayn somehow finally managed to get Louis to stop being moody and enjoy the rest of the game. It was easier said than done and Zayn believed here was some subtle help from Harry flashing Louis a sympathetic smile but by the time the game resumed the petite boy was happy again and confident that if Harry was as good as he told him he was then they would win.
Harry's shiny curls bounced mimicking the ball in his ring clad hands as his tattooed muscles flexed as he flew across the court. Harry wasn't usually stressed before games, he adored his sport and the adrenaline rush he got while playing but today he had to prove to Louis that he was actually as good as he insinuated in their previous conversation.
As he neared the hoop he could feel himself being cornered like a pack of starving animal's prey. The other team blocking his route and stunting his movement.
All eyes on him.
So with quick thinking Harry launched the ball at Liam who continued towards the hoop dribbling and eventually throwing the ball. The crowd paused in apprehension mindlessly holding their breath as the ball dropped and claps and shouts from their team broke out.
They had shot a hoop and Louis was up doing a little happy dance and clapping saying to zayn that it was technically Harry who enabled the win as he "pretty much did everything except shoot" in Louis words to which zayn just let out a little chuckle and continued to watch the game.
The highs and lows of the game managed to fluctuate Louis mood immensely, pouting every time they lost and jubilant when they won. Throughout the game many points had been added on both teams but it all came down to one shot.
Louis' gaze shifted between Harry and the ball, eyes flickering around the court until Harry caught it dribbling and bouncing the ball while swiftly dodging the other players. His eyes widened and his heart thumped harder from excitement as Harry neared the hoop again, his fast feet squeaking across the glossy flooring.
