Chapter 1

The day hell begun 

I quietly sat on the cobblestone staircase next to the river that's used to transport ships. Near me sat Mikasa, together we were looking at the two young boys exaggerating about a book.

"Their crazy.."I mumbled under my breath so only the raven-haired girl could hear me

The girl let out a chuckle as she nodded her head in agreement, we kept on listing to the blue-eyed boy talking about the somewhat called "sea", Armin and Eren made a promise between them selfs that once we get older that we will go to explore the lands of fire and many other parts of the world that no one living inside the walls heard of.

"(Y/N), "Mikasa started "What do you think of Eren joining the Scouts Regiment?"

On her words, both of the kids that were reading turned to face us and Eren let out a gasp slightly shocked that his friend told his little secret

"M-Mikasa!" He yelled as I watched him get up, along with Armin, and rush their way to us "You promised me you wouldn't tell anyone, how could you!" I slightly squinted my eyes and turned to face the river while swinging my legs back and forth

"Scout Regiment?What's that? Mom hasn't even mentioned that.."My voice started trailing off "But either way it sounds fun! If that's his choice, then I don't mind." I started wondering what's that all about but I could feel the gaze of my friends on me

"W-wait aren't you concerned for his health?"The blond-haired boy slightly tug on my sleeve "Like he can get injured by going out the walls!"

"Armin, you too against me?!" The emerald-eyed boy slightly yelled in defeat "I thought friends were meant to support each other in such decisions, and not to be against them!" He put his hand on my shoulder "(Y/N) I want to know your opinion on this."

"Well-"I was cut off by the bell ringing which caused Eren to suddenly squeak and jump up with a bright smile on his face, soon after Mikasa and Armin stood up leaving me the only one sitting on the ground. I was very confused at the sudden act "Huh, what's this about?"

The shoulder length boy looked at me with confusion in his eyes "You've never seen them come back to town?"

I shook my head signalizing them that I have no idea of what or who are they talking about, the brown-haired boy realizing I've never seen the Scouts brought out his hand towards me

"Then what are we waiting for?"He said while his cheeks became tinted a soft pink "You won't ever know if you just keep sitting like that!" and with that, I hesitantly took his hand, he intertwined our fingers together and pulled me up, then he started running, Mikasa and Armin following close behind

While I was been dragged around listing to my friends bubbling I had one thought in mind

'Who exactly are 'they'? '

The sound of the gates opening took my out of my thoughts as I saw many injured soldiers come in, I stood there a confused aura around me while I could feel the tension and sadness crept in the air

Then I saw a posture push through the crowd asking something that sounded like "Where's my son?"

I was right about that. The older aged woman stood there as tears came into her eyes. Then I noticed a man giving her a cloth, when she opened it I saw something that will forever stay in my mind...

It was an arm, a piece of a bitten off human body. She collapsed on her knees hugging the leftover pice of the body tightly to her chest

"I'm sorry, this is all we were able to retrieve"The man spoke as the lady broke into tears, next thing to see the male fell onto his knees as well, mumbling something I wasn't able to hear
