After a 3 hour long conversation with her friend Ellie on trying to convince her suicide wasn't the way forward, Gemma was very stressed distraught and worried (along with their friends Stefan and Dru and her boyfriend Ash). Gemma went into her room so no one could see or hear her crying. She felt helpless and emotional and just wanted to be on her own. Ash on the other hand must of had super human hearing and came into her room.
"Gem, what's..." He paused as she turned round with blood shot eyes and tear stains down her cheeks. "Hey shh don't cry! You done the best you could tonight you really did." He said whilst comforting her pulling her into a hug. He pulled her onto his lap and rocked her back and forth as she sobbed into his chest. "I just didn't know what to do she worried me so much Ash yano? I'm just worried she will do something bad!" Gemma whispered into his chest trying to hold herself together.
"Don't worry Gem, Stef and Dru have gone over there just to make sure that she doesn't do so and Jess is meeting them at hers." He said as he lifted her head up and wiped away the tears on her cheek. She finally had enough strength to say something to him that she knew might worry him.
"Ash - what would you do if I was like that you know suicudal one night...." Gemma questioned. He looked at her shocked and then said "I would try my best to talk you out of it. Suicide is not the way out Gemma!" At this point now Ash started to feel and sound chocked up. "If I ever found out that you were gone then I don't know what I would do with myself to be honest. You are the reason I wake up in the morning, I know that I'm not alone when I see you in bed with me and I can feel your head resting on my chest and when I can feel your heart beat because I know that it comforts me so." Ash told her as he began to declare his love for her "Gemma Smith, you are the most beautiful girl I have ever met. Your personality is just amazing, you are the most caring person I have ever known and is the best person that Ellie comes to when she is upset because she knows you can help her and she knows she can trust you, I feel the same way too. Gemma without you I don't know what I would do." She looked at Ash and she began to cry even more. "What you crying for now sweetheart?"
"These are happy tears by what you just told me. You are so sweet Ash you know that."
"I love you Gemma Smith."
"I love you too Ashley Horne."
They both leant in for a kiss on the lips. He wiped away Gemma's tears once more then held her around the waist as he pulled her down with him, her head resting on his chest as he was twisting a strand of hair round and round between his fingers. He felt her eyelashes flutter on his chest as she was closing her eyes and opening them back up. He started to sing to her;

When you wake me up." He sang as he ran his hand through her hair. "I love you Gemma you mean so much to me and this will always be our song." Ash was continuing to talk until he realised how still she was and the slow heavy breathing which showed him the signs of her falling asleep in his arms which he didn't mind. He just pulled the quilt on top of them both, kissed her on top of the head and tried to get to sleep himself. As he was nodding off he had a text from Dru;
"Stef is staying with Ellie for the night, he doesn't want to leave her on her own and I'm going to go back with Jess. It'll just be you and Gem in the house tonight so behave! ;) night to the both of you, hope Gemma is ok now. See you tomorrow xx" he just looked at his phone and fell asleep the next morning Gemma and Ash were woken up by Ed Sheeran's song 'wake me up' playing on the radio. This brung a smile to Gemma's face as she whispered to Ashley "it's our song."
