I feel like today is going to be a special day! Autumn is about to end, and I can't wait for winter to arrive! I bet a lot of great things will happen this time. Plus, this will be the first winter I spend with Skye! It's going to be amazing, I can feel it. Just a few more hours before we start to enjoy it all...
Eli then closed his notebook and looked at Skye, all pretty with her cape on and a pair of gloves she made. He then looked at the clock in a little house they made and saw it ticking. There was something really exciting about winter that Eli loved. But this wasn't the case for Skye. She felt like it would just be another normal day, but Eli tried to get that idea off her mind.
"Oh, come on! Try to at least get in the mood. Winter is amazing!" Said Eli as he bumped her from side to side.
"But, what is it about it that makes you so happy? And even if there was something, wouldn't you get bored of it being the same every year?" Skye wondered.
"It's not only that, but I'm also excited about the fact that you are here! I mean, who would have thought that I could spend such an amazing period with such an amazing girl!" He replied as he hugged her.
She smiled and placed her arms around Eli as well. "Oh, that's so nice from you to say! Maybe I can try and get in a happier mood, haha!"
And so she did. Her eyes glowed with joy as she talked with Eli. When suddenly, the clock reached midnight. Eli started jumping around and screaming.
"It's here! It's finally here!"
Even though it was too late for it, snow slowly started to fill all of their Home. Skye gasped as she noticed this, but not only because it how beautiful it looked. It was mainly because of how how cold it got in just a few seconds. She started shivering a little, when she suddenly felt something on her back. When she turned her head to look at it, it was Eli's cape.
"There you go! You shouldn't be that cold anymore, haha!" Eli said.
"Oh, thank you! But, what about you? Aren't you cold?" She replied.
"Not really. All the time that I have spent here has made me get used to it, so there's no need to worry!" He said with enthusiasm.
Skye smiled and took Eli's cape as a small blanket. She covered her mouth, leaving only her beautiful eyes at plain sight. It was a cute scene for Eli, who went outside to take a walk around the snow. And when he did, he found someone he never thought he would see again.
"Oh, look who's back! Nice to see you over here, Samira!" Said Eli.
"Nice to see you again as well, young Eli!" Samira replied. "Where is your friend at, huh?"
"She's inside. She hasn't gotten used to the cold apparently, haha! Anyways, I just came out here for a walk."
"Oh really? I don't believe so..."
"Umm, why would I lie to you?"
"Oh, I know you, Eli! Tell me, are you planning something?"
"... Ok, fine! I was planning on giving her a gift."
"Oh, that's so nice from you! What will you give her?"
"That's a secret! That is all that I can tell you."
"Well, I guess it is fair to keep it secret. Whatever it is, I am sure it will make her happy!" She said as she walked towards their little home to see Skye.
Eli waited for her to go away and he kept walking. He went to the other side of the island, and when he did he took something from his pouch and looked at it.
"I guess you are never wrong, Samira. I really hope she likes it..." Said Eli with a smirk. "But, should I give it to her now? What if she doesn't like it? Oh, now I'm worried!"
He sat down and looked at the stars to try and relaxed as he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Without even noticing, he fell asleep and dreamed about the gift he would soon give to Skye. When the sun came high up, Skye went outside to look for him. And when she did find him, he could only see a big bump in the snow. She couldn't avoid laughing at seeing this, and her chuckling was the one to make Eli wake up.
"How did you pass the night, you sleepy snowman?" Asked Skye as she was still laughing.
"Oh, I didn't even realize when I fell asleep! Believe or not, it actually wasn't that bad, haha!" Eli replied while shaking the snow off his face.
They kept on talking about how did Eli end up there, something he tried to avoid at first. He didn't want to spoil the surprise, but then he decided it was time for it. They both sat down at the edge of the cliff where Eli first took her, and his hand reached for his pouch as he talked.
"Skye, there's a little something I want to give you..."
"Oh, what could it be?" She replied as she got excited to see what the surprise was.
"Just close your eyes for a little, ok?"
"Oh, sure!"
She did as Eli requested and waited for something to happen. He could hear Eli slowly standing up, and so she felt something light on her neck. At this point, she couldn't wait to see what it was.
"Alright, open your eyes!"
When she did, she was now wearing a necklace with a little star shaped amulet hanging from it. She couldn't help but drop a few tears and look at Eli.
"This is beautiful! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She said as she got up and hugged him.
"It is my pleasure, Skye! I felt like this would be a good moment for it."
"It sure was! I really can't be more grateful with you. Thanks for everything!"
Eli blushed a little and kept hugging her. They decided to go back to their little home and spend some time in there. They set a little campfire to get rid of the cold. Eli felt really relaxed and closed his eyes. He stayed like that for a long time, mainly because he felt in peace. While he was at it, he felt something on his back. He got a little surprised and opened his eyes. When he looked at the thing on his back, it was Skye's cape. And when he turned around to look at her, she was wearing his cape.
"I think it looks good on me, doesn't it?" She wondered.
"The way it shines on you... It suits you perfectly!" Eli replied.
"I really like it! But I guess I should give it back to you."
"Not if I give it to you!" He said as he properly placed Skye's cape on his back.
"Wait, no! I can't just take this away from you. You earned this from Samira! I can tell how important this is for you!"
"But I know you will take better care of it than I do. Besides, I feel like this color suits me better..."
"Wait, are you serious?" She said as she slowly dropped a tear from happiness.
"Of course I am! And I am sure you deserve more than that!"
"I can't believe you are this kind to me... Thank you!"
She rushed to hug him one final time before Eli broke into tears as well. They had both proven they were really sensitive people, and that was something they really liked about each other. They looked through the window and saw a beautiful sky along with a couple of snowflakes stuck to the crystal.
"I really enjoy this life. I hope you are as well, best friend!" They both said at the same as Eli placed his head on Skye's shoulder.
The end (for real this time). ✨
