I wake up rummaging around the sheets trying to reach out for tank, i open my eyes after giving up trying to look for him with my hands, i adjust my eyes to the light before completely opening them, i look around but tank was no where to be seen, i stretch out my arms before crawling out of bed.
"I cant go to the protest today, i have to babysit Emilia today" i hear tank say from the living room,
"What about your little lady?" I hear another voice say as i walk to the bathroom,
"Shes an adult she can take care of herself" tank says again,
I close the doors of the bathroom and the voices faintly fade. After finishing i walk out to the living room to see tank and a man with dreads sitting on the couch, Tank notices me and gets up and walks up to me,
"Good morning love" he says kissing my forehead and holding my waist,
"Are you going to the protest today?" He asks me looking down at me,
"Yeah, why?" I ask
"I have to babysit today, do you have anyone to go with you?" He asks tucking my hair behind my ear,
"I think Esther might be free"
"Ill text her" i say pointing at my room,
He lets me go and i scurry off to my room to grab my phone,
You awake?
Yuh, why?
You going to the protest today?
No, I'm busy today, maybe tmr
Okay
I walk back still looking down at my phone,
"Yeah Esthers busy almost all day, i can go alone" i say looking up at tank,
"She can come with me" riot says standing up,
I look up at tank, he sighs,
"Okay, but stay close to her, the pigs have been really violent lately" tank says to riot,
"I can take care of myself, thank you very much" i say crossing my arms,
"I know you're capable of that, doesn't change the fact that i wont be able to stop worrying" he says grabbing my waist and kissing me,
I smile knowing he cares so much,
"Oh, i should get ready" i say letting go of the kiss and running to my room.
I go out to see that the guy was already geared,
"Lets go" he says, his voice muffled in his helmet,
I nod and kiss tank goodbye.

The drive was very awkward,
"I never asked your name, so, what is your name?" I ask him looking down at my feet,
"You can call me riot for now" he answers,
His helmet was off so he would be able to see the road,
"Oh okay then, my name is Mari" i say almost reaching out my hand to shake his hand but remembering he was driving,
"So you and Ellius?" He asks,
"Yeah, we're not really officially yet, i guess, and i don't blame him of course with everything that's happening, i don't expect his full attention, but it would be nice i guess" I answer him nervously
