Okay in this story Finn and Piper are still best friends, But they both like eachother and our too scared to tell eachother, btw famy never happened.
Emily's pov: Today I need to pick the nationals duet, since TNS always does well with lovers duets so that's what I'm going with. The pairs I have our Piper and Finn, Heath and Kenzie, Richelle and Ozzy, Lily and Kingston and finally Henry and Amy. I exit my office and walk into the studio. "Dancers gather round" they all gather around me and wait for more instruction "today you are gonna be auditioning for the nationals duet, I have already Picked your partners based on who I feel has the most chemistry"
I read out there partners and they all seem pretty happy. "Please have your duets done in 3 hours, and make sure you look like your in love" I say as they go back to stretching.
Pipers pov: Great I get to do a lovers duet with the guy I like, who I'm 99% sure doesn't like me back. "So pipes you wanna pick the song?" Finn asks me "sure!, meet me in studio 1 in 15 minutes". I stand up and walk over to my cubby. I open my bag and grab my phone, luckily I really like love songs so I have a ton already on my phone. I pick "where we go" by pink because it's my favourite song. I grab my water bottle and head into studio 1. "Hey pipes!" Finn says excitedly "hi..., I picked a song you should listen to it and tell me if it works for you". I hand him my phone and head phones. After a few minutes he takes the earbuds out "I like that song, wanna start working on the choreography?" "Sure".
Our dance is going really well. me and Finn have great chemistry but there's this one move where I'm supposed to wrap my legs around him and then we do a simple lift but it just feels strange since I have a small (huge) crush on him. He goes to lift me and I tense up causing him to drop me. "Shoot sorry Piper" he says as he helps me up "don't worry about it, let's just keep working on it"
Finns pov: Pipers acting strange, we do duets all the time but maybe because it's a lovers duet it's too weird for her. I enjoy it because I really do like Piper but I think it makes her uncomfortable. "We can just change that lift if you want" I tell her "no besides it's perfect for the dance". My favourite part of this dance is the end when Piper walks away from me and I grab her hand and pull her into a hug. After the dance I wait for her to pull away but she doesn't at least not at first, after at least
a minute she steps back "ugh sorry"
"For what?" I say with a light chuckle. She Looks down but I see her smile and a light blush appears on her cheeks. "What time is it?" She says, I check my watch "12, we still have an hour wanna get some lunch from the next steep" I ask her "of course, you know I never turn down lunch". We gather our stuff and head to the next steep. I order my lunch and so does Piper. Once our food is ready we sit at our normal table. "So you think we could actually get the nationals duet?" I ask her "I think we have a good chance I mean we are best.... friends, the only people with more chemistry is probably Kingston and Lily". She's spot on with that but I am wondering why she paused before the word friends but I decide to ignore that.
1pm
Pipers pov: all these duets are absolutely beautiful but I still think we have a good chance at winning. Right now we are watching Heaths and Kenzie's, it's technically great but they don't have much chemistry, I think they were the two who didn't have an obvious partner. "Great job Heath and Kenzie, and lastly Piper and Finn" Emily says. "Ready Pipes?" he asks me excitedly "yup let's go get ourselves a nationals duet". The dance is going perfectly. It's amazing dancing with Finn even if he doesn't like me it's still nice. This time when the dance ends he holds me by the waist. I stare into his eyes and he smiles as he releases his grip on me. "Amazing job!, let me go think it over and I'll be back". I walk over to Amy and she has a huge smile on her face "what?" I ask "Piper, can't you tell he likes you" she says "what!?, of course he doesn't, why would he ever like me?"
"Piper you and Finn were literally made for eachother also your so beautiful, your funny and should I go on or will you just talk to him" she says "no I'm not talking to him about this, not after what happened with Josh"
"Piper, Finns not even close to being Josh besides I see the way he looks at you when you aren't looking" "Look I'll make you a deal if we get this duet I will tell him" I say because I'm pretty much certain Kingston and Lily will get the duet "I'll take that deal" she says as she holds out her hand for a handshake I shake her hand. "Okay everyone I have the list of all our featured dancers" Emily says coming out of her office. "In the hip hop round we have a small group, Finn,Ozzy,Kingstson,Heath and Henry"
"Sick we got the bro's" Heath says "The acro round we have a trio, Amy, Lily and Richelle"
"The solo will be going to Piper" WAIT WHAT?! Did she just say I am doing a solo at nationals?! "And the duet is going to Finn and Piper". Oh no, I thought because I am the soloist she wouldn't give me any other featured dances and now I have to tell Finn!! I put on a fake smile which is probably half real as I am excited I got the solo. Finn walks over to me and gives me a hug. I look over Finns shoulder and see Amy with her "you better do it" face on. "You guys are free to go but enjoy your night because it will be your last free night until nationals" Emily says "Finn I need to talk to you" I tell him "okay are you okay?" He asks "ya but we really need to talk, like now". We walk over to studio 1 and sit down on a bench. "Finn, I 100% know and understand that you don't feel the same way but I need you to know I-I like you".
He smiles and grabs my hand "Pipes if you can't see how much I like you, I think you need your eyes checked" he says laughing "wait what?!" I say excitedly "I'm saying, I like you too Piper". I start blushing, I guess telling people how you feel doesn't always have to end terribly. "Do you wanna go to the movies tonight?" He asks me "I'd like that"
Wow that was pretty wholesome if I do say so myself. I really just want pinn to have a duet in the next 3 episodes because as we have learned a couple isn't official at tns until they dance a duet.
