i walked on the terrace when the summer began to die
thousand drops of rain crying from the sky
dead weathered petals
the roses were now thorns
i walked down the avenue
by the weak light of dawn
the shower after the heat
on the day we were to meet
i asked you to stay
but you left me on the streeti wept on the prairie
for all my world had all gone
i cried alone, by myself
for that's where i belong
