Chapter 5

"Mr.Grayson."

Dick looked back to see Professor Ginny Potter beckoning him. By her side was Professor Kent.

"I will see you in the hall, " Dick told Kori and made his way over.

"Hello professor," Dick greeted.

"Follow me, " She nodded curtly and led them both to her office.

When Dick entered, he saw Professor Allen, Professor Prince and Professor Kyle already sitting there along with the quidditch captains.

Professor Potter took her seat, and motioning them to the two empty chais

"As you all know, quidditch selections are starting, which now includes first years as well. " She waved her wand and four parchment shot out from the cabinet and opened themselves, hovering in front of the house heads. "These are the list of all those who have applied. Well not all, but those who could summon and mount a broom. This is the shortlist."

Dick scanned the list. Hufflepuff only had position of keeper available. And he was happy to see Jon had applied for the same. Well, hat could also mean that he was tipped about it.

He glanced at Clark who was next to him. He looked obviously pleased and satisfied seeing his son's name there.

"Captains and heads are free to select from the list after their trials. I have assigned days for the trials to every house and for practice as well. I hope this would be followed without any issues." She said side eyeing the Slytherin captain, Andrew Park. Andrew was known for picking up fights for the practice grounds.

"Is that clear? "She asked.

"Yes, ma'am, " They all said in unison.

"Well then. Good luck. "

Once they all were out of the office, professor Clark told him, "I saw Damian's name in the Slytherin list. Tell him good luck."

"Oh really! " Dick exclaimed, "I will. Thank you Professor. "

"And keep it in mind Dick, we don't want to lose our winning streak, I want you to select the best, no biases"

"Of course, Professor. I still have brats for little brothers who will rub it in my face for years to come if we lose now"

"Good."

Once they were out in the hallway,professor Clark said, "I saw Damian's name in Slytherin list. Tell him I say good luck for selections. "

"Oh! I will,professor, "Dick beamed at the thought of all his younger brothers made it to the quidditch teams. Well, Damian had not really made it yet but he had a good feeling that he will.

The good feeling didn't last long when he realized that it just meant more chaos, more mockery, bragging and trash talks.

"Now, I want you to select the best player without bias, I still intend to keep our winning streak. " Dick knew about the rivalry between the Clark and Bruce. After every Hufflepuff win, Clark would rub it in Bruce's face cherishing the way the face of Slytherin house head would turn red. Dick knew it because he was right beside making fun of Bruce.

"Of course sir. But won't you be with us for the selections? "

"No. I have some...work to do,"he said after a pause. Dick tried not to think much about it. There were many instances now-a days when it seemed the teachers were cautious about what they did or even spoke. The teachers had gotten stricter, and tense. He had noticed this change even in the most easy going Professors such as Barry Allen and professor Clark Kent.
