Chapter Twenty-nine

3rd Person View

"This way." Hwaryun said.

Y'all were now in the maze with Bam, Aka, Boro, Aka's teammate, Ran and Azrael. Hwaryun was of course taking the lead while y'all followed.

"She's amazing." You heard someone say.

"The elevator is.. Wrecked?"

"Damn.. Who knew she would go this far?" Aka asked. "Does that mean, we can't catch them anymore?"

Soon, a moment of silence came.

"Miss Hwaryun." You heard Bam call.

All attention was now on him.

"Let's go to the platform on the second floor." Bam said.

"...to the platform?" Hwaryun asked. "But the elevator is already--"

"No. But we might find a way on the platform." Bam said.

Aka punched the door and y'all saw Yura and a boy.

Yura looked confused and Bam explained how we got there. Yura fled the scene with the guy and we followed behind her. Suddenly, she spawned the mirotic guardian. You blocked the attack together with the others.

"Yura Ha is holding a controller!" Boro said.

"What a good eye! Bam, (y/n)! Follow me!" Hwaryun said. "Let's take the controller from her!"

"Got it!" You and Bam replied in unison.

You both followed behind the guide and the guardian shot a spear. Y'all dodged it and got through the door. You saw Yura.

"Stop!!" Bam yelled. "Give me the controller, Yura Ha!"

"How did you get past the guardian?" Yura asked.

The swordsman went in front of Yura and told her to go. She left after asking a few questions.

"Please step aside, you have nothing to do with this." Bam said. "There's someone I must meet on the other side!"

"Hey guys!"

You turned around to see Boro running towards you guys.

"Mr. Boro..? How did you get through?" You asked.

"I got thrown." He replied.

"What?"

"When you guys went through, Aka threw me." He explained. "Anyways, I'll take care of him. You guys should go and stop them."

"We'll leave him to you, Mr. Boro!" Bam said before we followed Yura.

"Ms. Yura Ha! Stop right there!" Bam yelled before he shot her.

They started talking and the author seemed to be lazy these days so she skipped to the part when you saw two people wearing cloaks.

"We'll introduce ourselves, we're a comrade of Rachel. I'm Daniel Hatchid and this is Afriel Anouk." He said.

"Did you just say you're Rachel's comrade?" Bam asked.

"Who are you?" Daniel asked.

"I've come here to find Rachel!" Bam replied. "Please let me see her!"

"See Rachel?" He asked. "Now I see, you've got golden eyes and brown hair. You must be Jue Viole Grace."

Daniel kept talking and as you know, the author is lazy so Daniel talked to Bam about a one on one with him.

"I have one myself, and so does Afriel and Yura. I don't mind if those two take the controller from them first." Daniel said. "And all I want is to see what you've got. How does it sound?"

Yura got mad at Daniel and Daniel told her she has no right to be mad at him.

"All you've gotta do is run safely to the top." Daniel said before looking at Afriel. "You can fight or flight, whatever you want."

"What should we do?" Bam asked Hwaryun.

"Well it may be more advantageous for us than chasing the three of them." Hwaryun replied.

"Alright, I accept the bet." Bam said.

"Good, then let's start right away." Daniel said.

Your POV

It's been a while since I ran. Let's see if I got rusty.

"Fight!"

I ran towards Afriel and Hwaryun to Yura, Yura was a bit slow for someone who was from the Ha family.

Afriel chose to run. She was just in front of Yura. Her speed seems to be similar to Yura. Too bad I'm faster. I ran towards Yura and got past her.

"You're a bit slow for a member of a Ha family." I said as I ran backwards. "Be glad you aren't the one I'm fighting."

I turned back to Afriel and managed to grab her cloak. She took off her cloak and grabbed her needle. She turned around and I stopped myself from running pass her. She held her needle towards me. Yura and Hwaryun ran past me.

"You do know I'm stronger than you, right?" I said with a grin.

This wasn't a lie. I was on a whole different level compared to her. I hope she trained these past few years.

"I know. But I am smarter." She said with an evil grin.

She suddenly disappeared and I was left confused. I was still holding her cloak. I looked towards Hwaryun to see she was getting attacked by another girl.

I threw the cloak away and ran towards Hwaryun with full speed. I jumped to the air and summoned my hardened water platform.

"Ooh! Another pretty lady! This is truly a feast!" She said with a smile.

I tried to kick her in the face but she dodged.

"How rude.." She replied.

"What are these things. They eat metal." Hwaryun spoke.

The girl explained what they are, completely ignoring me.

And you say I'm rude..

"If you die here, your friends will do whatever it takes to come after us, won't they?" She asked.

Is she planning on killing her?!

"It makes me excited just by thinking about it!" She said before letting her metal fishes attack Hwaryun.

I jumped in front of her and quickly used the water wall hoping the fishes will turn to rust. But it didn't and it attacked us.

"F*ck.." I cussed as I was covered in wounds and blood. "Should've seen this one coming.." I said as I grunted in pain.

I looked beside me to see Hwaryun laying on the floor, covered with blood.

Ugh, my head is hurting..

"Hey kid! We don't have time to fool around!" I heard someone yell. "Retreat!"

"What the heck, old man? Why are you in such a hurry..?" She asked.

"Take those girls and go up!" I heard someone again.

I tried standing up but felt something hit my head. I was soon falling out of consciousness.

"Well, this is a bummer."
