(A/N: this is a relatively short chapter)

Today was my first day of learning how to read, write and all that with Cogsworth. I was showing the young boy, who I learned his name is Chip, some magic tricks when Cogsworth came to get me.

"Okay Chip, watch carefully. I will make this button disappeared," I showed him a spare button I kept on me before closing my hand and made random had movements, "ajji majji la tarajji," I managed to slip the button down my sleeve and showed Chip that it disappeared.

Chip gasped, "it's gone!"

"Ah, but what's that behind... your..." I slid the button out onto my hand, "...ear?" I showed him the button.

"You're magic!"

"You're very good with children, (Y/N)," Mrs Potts said.

"I've been around children for a long time, they've always interested me."

Cogsworth called me for my first lesson. I gave the button to Chip telling him he could keep it and followed Cogsworth. We went into a giant room filled with things I didn't recognize and sat down at a table where Cogsworth placed one of the many objects in this room in front of me.

"What is it?" I asked.

"It's a book. It's something you read and something we will use to teach you to read," he told me, "for now, we'll start with the alphabet."

We worked on that for a bit so I knew what the letters sounded like so I could try to start reading but that we would do another day. After that, I went outside in the rain that started a while ago. The rain falling on my skin felt amazing. I went inside not long after and performed more tricks for Chip. I even did a simple disappearing trick on the dog which Chip enjoyed watching.

(Time skip)

Night fell and I was the only person awake. Bad dreams have been filling my mind and I can't sleep. I walked around the castle for hours to occupy myself but I was bored beyond belief. I went into the room I seem to be obsessed with and went to the piano. Even though I don't know how to play, I tried making a tune I liked and continued, occasionally using different keys.

I did end up falling asleep on the piano. Morning came and Cogsworth woke me up. He asked if I was there all night and I nodded tiredly. I tried reading later that day. We continued this for months until I knew how to read, write and all that. The now King Adam didn't want to put my circus skills to waste so he asked me if I would become a jester of sorts. I said yes since I really had nothing much to do in this castle except read. My life is now better than ever.
