The way her eyes twinkled was stunning. They were like the stars. She was pretty, I guess. She was different from all the other girls.
Why? Because she wasn't boy crazy for me and it drove me insane.
All the girls in school love me. She seems to turn her head the other way every time I'm in the room.
She doesn't come scratching my feet and it bothers me. Why so much? I don't know. I just have this hunch she doesn't like me, period. Why would you not like me?!
Not even paying attention to my friends' conversation I was staring at her by her locker.
"I'll catch up with you guys later." I told them waving them off. They bid their goodbyes.
I fixed my jean vest and walked over to her.
I leaned on the other side of her locker.
"So," I started, "I hear you...have a thing for me. So how's about we ditch class that go to the diner for lunch?"
She closed her locker, not very swiftly I may add. She looked at me bored.
"That sounds like fun!" she exclaimed excited and I shrugged for my bright ideas. "If I was stupid." She then added with a boring attitude.
"I wouldn't ditch or do anything with you to save my life. You're nothing but trouble!" She spoke.
"Your point?" I raised my eyebrows and crossed my arms. She's obviously playing hard to get.
"My point?" She looked at me dumbfounded. "Hey look at it like this, I know you're a player and you're trying to use me. Your game doesn't work so easily with me. Remember that girl you played you called hiccups?" She asked.
I scrolled through my memory and laughed when I remembered that name.
"Oh I remember her!" I spoke. "We were making out in back of school when she started hiccuping during the make out. A couple minutes after she threw up. It was so disgusting but funny. Ah, good times!" I explained remembering.
"Yeah well 'hiccups' is my best friend." She rolled her eyes. "Do us both a favor piss off. I'm not interested."
Crap! I'm smart. Why would I do that? I bit my lip and moved fast enough to hold her against the lockers.
"C'mon it'll be fun! Let's go." I pleaded.
"Let go of me please." She said.
"Not until you agree." I told her.
"Let go I'm going to be late to math! The bell's going to ring!" She tried wiggling her arms free.
"Go with me." I whispered.
"Okay okay." She agreed. I smiled.
I let go of her carefully and put my arms up like I was surrendering.
Out of the blue she elbowed me in the stomach knocking the wind out of me.
"Asshole." She muttered at me, strutting away.
I smirked. She's - interesting.
"Talk about letting you down easy!" Cameron laughed from behind me.
"Shut up." I spat.
While I walked past him as he leaned against the wall he said and shook his head, "A girl rejecting you? That's a first." And he laughed again.
The bell rang and kids sprinted out of the halls. Cam and I just stayed there in silence.
"You ditching?" I asked.
"Nah, there's this cute new blonde in my class right now. I'm just gonna be late." He shrugged. "You ditching?" He asked.
"No." I breathed. "I think I'll stay. I'm just going to wait a little bit to go to class."
"Alright. See ya Matt." He bro hugged me.
"See ya Cam." I saluted as he walked away.
I slid down the wall and sat down.
I let out a breathy laugh at myself. That girl - rejected me.
You're obviously doing something wrong Matt.
Wait, she said she was in math right now right?
Lightbulb!
I waited for a nerd to walk out of a classroom while I waited by an honors class.
"Hey you!" I called. He turned to me. He tried to speed walk away.
I ran up to him. "I need you to do me a favor."
-
"Mr.Simon it's urgent may I speak to you?" I heard him ask the teacher.
"Ah yes, I see." I heard Mr.Simon whisper as the kid explained a fake lie.
"Mrs.Luna, you're needed in the office it's important grab your things!" Mr.Simon called.
As soon as they both walked out I heard her panic.
"My brother's in a car wreck where is he?! Is he okay?! Hurry up and walk faster!" She shot all these things at the kid. When she saw me she stopped.
I smirked. I walked up to the kid. "I owe you. Thanks - " I let him finish.
"Kevin! Can I go to class now?" He asked.
"Sure."
As soon as he left she asked, "So my brother's not in an accident?"
"Nope." I clarified and popped the 'p.
"Then why'd you pull me out of class, what the heck? I'm going back -" I cut her off.
"You're a hard ass is all I picked up on earlier and you need fun. I pulled you out of class so we can leave you're not really going to go back after you're off the hook?" I asked in a duh tone.
She still had a blank expression on her face.
"If I go with you what makes me think it's safe? You look capable of rape." She stated.
I held back a laugh. "I promise I won't make a 'move' on you. I'll keep my hands to myself."
She lifted an eyebrow. "Promise?"
"Promise." I told her.
"Alright fine but if I do this never speak to me again and so much as break your promise I'll punch you in the face." She threatened.
I smirked, "Okay I get it let's go!"
I started jogging towards the exit and heard her feet slowly walking behind me.
This is going to be a long day.
