Percy POV
Today. Last week of school. Tomorrow, I'll go to Montauk to spend the summer holidays at the beach as always. Getting out of school was always a dream come true to 5 year olds, including me. I don't get it. Everything the teacher wrote on the blackboard was a bunch of useless worms, swimming on the board. Every 4 minutes I'll squirm uncomfortably on my seat.

I know that I'm not an ordinary kid. I see things people couldn't. I don't understand why. Sometimes, when I'm thinking really hard, I can remember my father's smile-distant, a vague memory, but it warms me up. Oh, by the way, i lost my dad. I dunno why, but I've never seen him. Mom used to say he was stranded at sea.

Beasts. Monsters. Ugly revolting old ladies. I can see them all. My classmates and teachers cannot.

My name is Percy Jackson. Welcome to my world. Listen to some music now... What I've been through must scare you.
