Dylan's POV

My stomach spun, seeing her reaction. At the moment, she was sitting by the edge of the bed with me squatting infront of her, now holding her two legs. She wasn't looking at me in the eye, she was blushing but wasn't smiling and her grip on my hand got loose.

I needed her to say something. The silence was killing me but I had no regrets of telling her. Keeping those feelings to myself felt worse.

She tucked her lips in, making small movements I couldn't understand. "Avery" I called her name, rushing her to give a response.

"I... Uhh... III..." she couldn't say proper words but I got the message. She was going to reject me.
It didn't come as a shock to me though. I always felt that Avery returning my feelings would be nothing but a fantasy

I forced a smile to lighten the mood, "Calm down... You don't have to say words to reject me" I chuckled a bit, seeing how much she was shaking. Why so nervous "I saw it coming anyways... I don't need you to love me back" that over there was a lie. I'll always love her but knowing she doesn't feel the same. That's another level of pain I'm not ready to endure.

She still didn't say anything.

Her silence made me start questioning my decisions.

Was it really a good idea confessing out of nowhere. You idiot , I schooled myself

"I'll... Leave you now" I said, having enough of the silence. I began standing up but Avery pushed me back to my former position.

Her sudden action gave me hope

I grinned thinking she was about to kiss me or something but it dies when I saw her face. She looked scared.

What's the problem?

"Do you feel the same?" I whispered, leaning in to capture every feature of her face. She looked adorable, especially in situations like this when she's blushing. It really makes me loose my senses. Literally

She looked down at her feet, pouting like she was about to force herself to saying m say something the next second but nothing came out.

I couldn't help but smile.
I've never seen her so shy.
I tilted her head by her chin, making her gaze meet mine. I had no idea what I was doing.

My other hand slipped down here arm, holding her hand at the edge. Now she had her eyes sinking into mine. Her lips parted, she was about to say something. "Dyl-" before she could say anything. I had my lips on hers. She didn't seem to welcome it though.

She pushed me away slowly, grabbing the bedsheets and squeezing with a stressed expression in her face.

That's when I truly experienced true instant regret. I felt like I had just ruined everything with that one, mindless action.

She was panting.

She's panicking.

"I'm sorry" I apologized immediately, getting up faster now "I shouldn't have... Done that... I guess." I said, confusion filling my tone. Part of me didn't regret kissing her. Part of me was ready to go again. That was something I've wanted for years.

That one second with my lips on hers... It was magical

I glanced at her. She was watching me like a movie. She looked worried. It pained me. I looked away, waving, heading for the door, leaving.

"Wow... Just wow. Sly move Mr. Romeo!" My wolf teased me as soon as I got to the room

I ignored him, sitting on my bed and reflecting on what just happened
